The redhead took the kids to sit on Santa's lap today. Great time was had by all.

After the kids were done, Santa asked the redhead if SHE would like to sit on his lap.
"Oh no", says she. "I don't sit on the lap of ANY man who only comes once a year."

The penis heads are out of film again? Pete, I thought that was your responsibility?

Did the REDHEAD really say that? You're a lucky man.

Just a reminder that today is December 7th. On this day back in 1941, a sleeping giant was awoken.

[This comment was not Christmas-like. I didn't realize we were starting so early.]

I seem to notice a little stress here lately. We need to find someone who can step up to the plate and knock one out of the ballpark for the 'Ol Gipper. Someone with some authority who has control of a captive group of lemmings and make a sales pitch. What is it? What is going to change the way we look at model railroading forever?

Jon:

Did you see the first pictures of the K-4? Its on my webshots page under the subject of Christmas-2004. I had it running tonight but not in command mode...runs nice and the whistle is really sweet.

Jim Perrine's K-4 is darn nice, Jon. And setting up a layout for the holidays is a fine tradition that gets to the spirit of the season. With a year round layout in the garage, home office, and professional office, I sometimes go braindead and stymied on how to progress. It would be a good thing to set up some simple circles or ovals of track once a year and just enjoy this hobby for it's inherent magic.

Tonight is the first night of Hanukkah. One year, long ago, one of my Jewish childhood friends received a Lionel train set for the holiday. For each of the remaining seven nights, as one more candle on the Menorah was lit, he received some additional small item to add to the floor layout. As the days went on, his parents gently explained the significance of their belief without evangelizing or disrespecting my own religeous tradition. I had already heard a lot of anti-Semitic and anti-Catholic prejudice in my young life and was impressed by their patience and preserverance. As I understand it, the term Hanukkah means "dedication". So when I think about holiday layouts, I remember this warm Jewish family and the wonderful holiday season that they enjoyed.

San, you are right, Brother! Screw the ALCU and whoever thinks that we can only say Happy Holidays. To all I say , Merry Christmas, and Happy Hanukkah!!
And if you don't like that, then use the freedom this country has givin you to get your *** on the next flight out of here!!!

Jon:

Thanks for displaying my K-4 on the fourm. Yes it does look nice and runs just as well. I really love the whistle but I haven't had it running under TMCC yet. I am doing the layout slowly but it will be ready for Christmas...and by the Jon and San...MERRY CHRISTMAS.

MERRY CHRISTMAS to you and yours, Jim. The magic is starting, and I think you set it off with your Christmas layout endeavor.

Keep us posted on your progress.

Thanks for making it feel like Christmas.
