I seem to notice a little stress here lately. We need to find someone who can step up to the plate and knock one out of the ballpark for the 'Ol Gipper. Someone with some authority who has control of a captive group of lemmings and make a sales pitch. What is it? What is going to change the way we look at model railroading forever?

Jim Perrine's K-4 is darn nice, Jon. And setting up a layout for the holidays is a fine tradition that gets to the spirit of the season. With a year round layout in the garage, home office, and professional office, I sometimes go braindead and stymied on how to progress. It would be a good thing to set up some simple circles or ovals of track once a year and just enjoy this hobby for it's inherent magic.
Tonight is the first night of Hanukkah. One year, long ago, one of my Jewish childhood friends received a Lionel train set for the holiday. For each of the remaining seven nights, as one more candle on the Menorah was lit, he received some additional small item to add to the floor layout. As the days went on, his parents gently explained the significance of their belief without evangelizing or disrespecting my own religeous tradition. I had already heard a lot of anti-Semitic and anti-Catholic prejudice in my young life and was impressed by their patience and preserverance. As I understand it, the term Hanukkah means "dedication". So when I think about holiday layouts, I remember this warm Jewish family and the wonderful holiday season that they enjoyed.

Jon:
Thanks for displaying my K-4 on the fourm. Yes it does look nice and runs just as well. I really love the whistle but I haven't had it running under TMCC yet. I am doing the layout slowly but it will be ready for Christmas...and by the Jon and San...MERRY CHRISTMAS.
