Just because the tv cameras have activated shouldn’t be the signal to tell everything you are planning and thinking.
Sometimes, wise strategy is to keep your trap shut. Why assure adversaries of your plans and thinking?!

Not sure where you get your news Murph, but Biden has been plagued his entire 50+ years in politics by foot in mouth disease. He does ok when reading the prompter, although even then he screws up, but he absolutely cannot be trusted to talk off the cuff or adlib without direction from his handlers. That is why in many cases where he spoke at press conferences, he gives his spiel and immediately exits the press room without taking questions. His staff knows that he can't think clearly or fast enough to answer without problems. Look how many times in just over a year he's blown up at reporters, even resorting to name calling. Then it's up to his staff and WH spokeswoman Jen Psaki to set the record straight. (They call it clarifying). This latest HUGE gaff before the people of Ukraine, (in Poland), where he stated, (off the cuff), that Putin should not be allowed to stay in power was unreal. The whole worlds news organizations took that as he meant that Putin should either be deposed or otherwise eliminated. The staff later clarified that he meant "just in Ukraine", but he didn't say that. Now news people are wondering, (and probably so is Putin) if the US is calling for Putin's ouster as a world leader or worse. And how about when he was speaking to the Army Airborne about "when you go in"? Did he mean he's gonna puts boots on the ground in Ukraine, or did he just screw up as usual?

Aren't you and I in agreement, here, though you've said it more extensively than I ? (!)

Yeah Murph! We agree. The problem seems to be getting worse. Big difference from just 2 years ago 'til now. His mental faculties are suffering a debilitating loss of cohesion.

You guys are giving Joey the Dunce way to much credit. He wasn’t even that bright in his hay day. Barry even said to never underestimate Joes ability to **** things up.

Remind me where you folks got your medical training? You obviously cannot tell the difference between normal speech from someone who is older and also has a speech impediment, and mental decline, which it isn't. You don't know what the heck you are talking about. Probably because you have almost no contact with people of this age, unlike physicians and nurses, etc.

Joe Biden is a perfectly competent and functional 80ish year old man with a speech disability. He probably walks slower than he did a few years ago. That's normal and not functionally important, since he's not a candidate for the next Olympics :). If he were impaired, you can be sure the cabinet would notice and invoke the 25th amendment. Unlike the sycophants who constituted the Trump cabinet, this cabinet is largely responsible individuals not slaves to the cult of personality.

I believe you on this. with the democrats want to be the party with having the first black/Asian president. Mr. Biden is proof that we need a ceiling on a candidates age. Even people without medical degrees will tell you things can go downhill quickly after 65. While we are at it. Please tell us about the personal examination you gave Mr. Biden. Was it done in DC. or did he come to NY? I do and I'm sure most of the world agrees with Biden about Putin needing to go. Putin Needs to go and anybody that says otherwise is a fool!

Obviously I am going on the same information everyone else is. I haven't performed a neurologic and/or mental status exam on Joe Biden. The difference is I am qualified by training and experience to have a medical opinion on the data publicly available, as compared with those with no professional experience and training. :).

As for arbitrary age limits, one might add that Churchill was about 65 when he saved civilization from Hitler. And he was a lifelong smoker and drinker and his biologic age was probably much older by comparison with a 65 year old today. And he had spent a lot of his life breathing London's inflammatory air pollution which does bad things to every organ system.

The republicans have been calling for Biden to take the same Psychological evaluation that Trump went through.

But Biden won't do it. I'm sure there is a reason for that.

"The republicans have been calling for Biden to take the same Psychological evaluation that Trump went through."

The Republicans have also been claiming, without evidence, that there was electoral fraud in the Presidential election, the Jan. 6th assault on the Capitol was a peaceful demonstration, and that Jewish space lasers are threatening our country. So it's not clear that many of them could pass a mental status exam, much less be qualified to request one on someone else :). Trump is clearly a narcissistic personality, a megalomaniac and an inveterate liar, all of which are diagnoses that can be made by qualified physicians, so his exam was a reasonable ask. Biden's main problems are he speaks slowly and uncertainly, likely partly due to a lifelong speech impediment. Not grounds for requesting a mental status exam.

So was Kermit Gosnell…..means nothing. Maybe your patients would give you a better grade than your counterparts on a model train forum but I seriously doubt it.

"his mouth starts moving before his brain is engaged."

At least his mouth doesn't produce words of hatred, delusions of grandeur and brilliance, and misinformation.

President Biden does not exude confidence. What ever his intentions are. We have not had a president for awhile that will make us or the world fill confident. That’s all a president needs to do.

Let me see if I got this straight. When the President forgets what city he is in, when he mixes up which country he's supposed to be talking about, when he can't remember the name of the person he's talking to, when he fluffs up and spills a possible state secret, when he completely loses his train of thought and has to be cued from the sideline that this is all due to a speech impediment? Damn! The things you learn from the highly educated elite on a model train forum.

Funny, but I don't recall you mentioning these things when Trump did them. Perhaps I missed those posts. I've done them all (except the state secret part, which is in doubt in any case) and I'm pretty sure I'm not senile. In fact, we've all done these sorts of things from time to time. I tend to believe your opinion is more informed by political bias than anything factual. If it makes you happy to think we have a doddering fool for President for the next three years, have at it. Better than a malicious, felonious lying fascist. Trump made me nostalgic for my old Yale "friend," GW Bush :).
