I'm still not certain what to say, personally , upon meeting a person presenting that self-image . For example, in a classroom, I wonder if I would use "he"or "her" when referencing that person. I'm not even certain how I would respectfully and with kindness ask such a person which pronouns he or she or (?) might prefer being utilized when making Third Person (which mark Gender) reference.

Just address the person by their name and keep on moving forward.

Birth name or new chosen name..... Caitlyn Marie Jenner (born William Bruce Jenner; Or maybe you can just point your finger and say Hey You,

"Hey, you": would be using Second Person, and Direct Address. However, sometimes, we talk about or reference a person who is present, or not present, and we utilize: he; she; etc.

"Gender non-binary" elects to not announce as one gender, even if being experienced anew, and instead refuses to be catalogued/categorized/lumped-in to any particular gender grouping. Jenner elected to be associated with, and shifting to, one gender in particular, I believe. Or did I miss something there? Did Jenner declare as "Gender non-binary" ? I've heard conversations on talk-shows wherein the hosts were careful (it seemed) to use "she" and "her" when referencing that person currently.

I believe you call them “Z” . My dentist made me fill out a paper on how i would like to be addressed. I wrote in “SIR ROBERT OF NEW BRITAIN “. You should see everyone’s facial expressions. When he calls for me.

However, that would be addressing you (Second Person) by a name/title. What would be used when talking about or referencing you?

Years ago. Children were taught how to speak to adults. Now adults must learn how to talk to children.

Just address the person by their name and keep on moving forward.

Nonsense, or at least, a flippant reply, sir, typically condescending, but unhelpful. It's definitely not that simple. Absolutely not. Giving it such short-shrift is clumsy, at best. It certainly would not be seldom that a person would be referred to in such a setting necessitating the use of a Third Person pronoun. For example, teacher stands in front of the class, and during the lesson refers to a clever answer given by that person , previously, saying something like, "Yesterday, she said..." or "Yesterday, he said...". Get it?

Don't be silly, please, and reckless with your answers, kindly. I realize you have, at times, a strong motivation to be smartazzzed, but here I am talking - trying to talk - about something that concerns being considerate of another person in our modern society, a place of many, many changes.

Totally reject your response - I was completely serious - You address people by their names! Doing less than using actual names is sheer laziness.

Doing ""Yesterday, she said..." or "Yesterday, he said..."" tells me that in your example that the teacher fails to care enough to know the names of their own students.

Following your "logic"....
So, if I now typed, "Rufus replied to my posting. He said..." that would demonstrate to you I didn't care enough to have learned and remembered your name and you ??????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!
That is use of a Third Person Pronoun, "he," utilized to speak about you, not to you. You don't see my point yet? Or do you just like to fight? :(

You asked how to address a person - implies in person. I responded to do so by using their name. No more; no less.

Do you address or greet people in person as "he"?

When the person is in the same room as you, why not use their name? I guess depersonalization is all the rage now.

With Halloween coming up I thought this was interesting.

Its body paint not tattoos.

For these women, it's Halloween all year round
