Wee, sleeket, cowrin, tim'rous beastie,...
... But, Mousie, thou art no thy lane
In proving foresight may be vain:
The best laid schemes o' mice an' men
Gang aft agley,
An' lea'e us nought but grief an' pain
For promis'd joy.
Still thou art blest, compar'd wi' me!
The present only toucheth thee:
But, och! I backward cast my e'e
On prospects drear!
An' forward, tho' I canna see,
I guess an' fear!
God Bless Lenny. You too Tramp.

Wow, just read this all now.
Tramp, as you well know from early December, I got reason to feel for you. Buried my own cat that leaden day, and me and the kids put a special stone on her dirt.
Cats. They can vex a person into apoplexy one day, and then when you're laying in bed feeling your goddamn down and dirtiest, there's a purr-factory climbing on your chest and licking your chin, knowing your worst thoughts and respecting you anyway.
Cripes, and people think cats aren't affectionate. No one owns a cat who isn't affectionate too, and Tramp, no more hiding it, you got a heart that's as big as New England, and tonight, it's out there sitting on your sleeve.
Kim sends her deepest regards, she who has had animals all her life. Me, I'm lifting my hobo cup to you and Lenny both, and I'll ask you to go take one more pull on that haunting 'Virginian' steam whistle, make 'er echo long and lonely, for you, for Lenny, for all of us who have had to mourn.
In the meantime, a couple of things:
First, know that there's a little Fox of a Siamese awaiting Lenny, in some serious heat and twitching her tail, (now that she's no longer spayed). She was a haughty thing, and relationships were strictly on her terms, but she'll be mighty impressed with a no-longer-neutered Stud who had the temerity to baptize both a Ducati AND a ZW.
Secondly, in Lenny's honor and memory, I'm going to go take a drink out of the toilet, then piss on the Harley.
