Tramp, you're thinking of:

Bungle In The Jungle

Walking through forests of palm tree apartments ---
Scoff at the monkeys who live in their dark tents
Down by the waterhole --- drunk every friday ---
Eating their nuts --- saving their raisins for sunday.
Lions and tigers who wait in the shadows ---
They’re fast but they’re lazy, and sleep in green meadows.
Let’s bungle in the jungle --- well, that’s all right by me.
I’m a tiger when I want love,
But I’m a snake if we disagree.

Just say a word and the boys will be right there:
With claws at your back to send a chill through the night air.
Is it so frightening to have me at your shoulder?
Thunder and lightning couldn’t be bolder.
I’ll write on your tombstone, ``i thank you for dinner.’’
This game that we animals play is a winner.

Let’s bungle in the jungle --- well, that’s all right by me.
I’m a tiger when I want love,
But I’m a snake if we disagree.

The rivers are full of crocodile nasties
And he who made kittens put snakes in the grass.
He’s a lover of life but a player of pawns ---
Yes, the king on his sunset lies waiting for dawn
To light up his jungle
As play is resumed.
The monkeys seem willing to strike up the tune.

Jon, you're right. Sounds like Long to me.

Hey, that TMCC holding? I can't believe it, but everything is running okay my way.

Tramp, First off, I was pleased to read the PFE was running in your consist!!! She's a beauty! Also, did you see where I finally had time to dig up Pete's name from underneath the reefer!!! (you're slick!!)

Just a short run yesterday with no trouble, but I'm going to try for an hour or so this weekend, especially if the SW-9 makes it in by Friday. Brother, I'll gladly buy you a round of beers if you're right!! Hell, I'll buy you a round of beers anyhows. The next time I'm in NH we really should try to meet half way!!!

Actually last night I went and swapped out engines on the layout and for some reason they're all diesel now. Must be going through a diesel phase.

Jon, where was that sculpture of cars impaled on a spike?

Tramp called me up last night, and blew the whistles on his 4 steamers for me. Two were chime-whistles; classic, but not the one I was after. It was his 'Virginian' that got to me the first time, and all over again last night. It's a one-note mournful hoot, and tails downward a half-note at the end. Puts me to mind of an Uilleann pipe, and sounds like the saddest Irish song that ever was, and pretty much tells a hobo's life in one long blow.

Pete, well said. You goddamn poet, you.

Jon, The Steel PFE (Lionel) rides just behind the wood PFE. Third in a train of 16 reefers, (May Blossom Lard on the nose). They both share the same markings: UP and SPL. It really has found a good home. I will treasure it always. Lionel actually has the notched hatch holders that I emailed Atlas about as a suggestion when Atlas first came out with their cars.

Some gifts are perfect. I got two this year. One from Pete, one from Jon. I'm a lucky man.

I count my blessings as well.
Now I must escape to the train room to Scotchbrite some rails, I hate the chore but the results are incredible! Even with the room being air conditioned and heated there has been enough oxidation on small sections of my track to "halt" an engine in TMCC mode, so I may as well check everything, be right back!! :D

New England does have a few good things. Very little dampness. Except in our women. Sometimes.

Big Maine Woman. The state seems to produce a lot of them. I think we have one of the biggest obesity problems in the country. Men, too, of course.
