The infamous 'hayfield meet'

This happened about 3 hours into the new year. The hay rake was sitting 12 yards off the road, all by itself, in a ten-acre field. The facts of the story come straight from the good 'ol boys over morning coffee at the local diner.

Let this be sufficient warning to all you hobos, about this most deadliest of combinations:
1) alcohol
2) an angry woman.

I think we need a little more story, don't we? We're hobos, not mind readers.

But then we must ask ourselves why someone (Pete) would go to so much trouble. If he did, I'm glad he lives over 10 hours away. I will admit that the turned wheels seem odd. There's something afoot here. I'm still too hung over to figure it out.

What appears to be a scissors-jack by the left front wheel is actually the front tire of the hay rake rolled to a 45° angle. The items by the right front tire are pieces of plastic shrouding from the front of the Jeep. The other tire beyond was also on the hayrake, on the end that is up in the air, by the drivers window, which-part belongs on the ground. The whole rake was rolled 45° upward. It's very foreshortened in this picture angle. Parts of the rake extend all the way to the rear axle.
There it sits, three days later. I can't figure how they'll lift it to pull the rake out. No way to put a hook on the front.

Actually, I kind of like it. Sort of like our own "Cadillac Ranch".

Whose Jeep?

You get a better idea of how impaled the car is with a side view. I sent the 4 pics to Tramp. He'll confirm, though he can't add them here.

Basically, the Jeep just drove right up onto the rake. The turn in the wheels was the rake body forcing one wheel wide, the other had to follow.

"Drunk Angry Redneck Woman" update:

Tramp, the car belonged at the house who's roof can be seen in the background. The road curls left, before the house, as it descends.
She came a-hellin' up the road, must have missed the curve, and went straight into the field.

Here's the story:
Redneck woman got drunk, had a fight with her husband, took off. The odd twist is that she hasn't been seen since! Best guess is that she's somewhere with a boyfriend. Wonder if the wreck was intentional, for whatever reason, piss off her husband.
Husband likely got off light, and is lucky he didn't get shot, instead!

Damn thing is, had the rake not been there, she'd have been back on the road in another 50 yards.

But the last time a woman disappeared around here, (this happened 5 miles away), her husband had choked her to death during a fight, drove her around 'til he found a suitable spot, buried her, and reported that she had run away. A MAJOR search went for naught. Some turkey hunters found her about a year later.
He got... ready for this?...19 months in jail. Claimed he was hen-pecked, and it was a crime of passion. He's already out free.

Recently, a young local woman was driving drunk, crashed her car, her boyfriend was thrown from the car and killed, and she's facing up to 27 years.
The local talk is that she should have dragged him back into the car, and told the police she choked him to death.

So the upshot is, maybe the husband did it, and there will be much more to this story!!

Lots of passion shootings here in Maine lately. Seems to be the thing to do.

A woman I know got pissed at her husband. She calmly filled his prized, vintage Caddy convertible with dirt, including the engine and gas tank after the filler caps had been removed. She was happily hosing it all in when he got home. His crime? She'd seen him in bed with another man.
