I hope it gets there by tomorrow.

Does Bing sing some great Christmas songs or what? Nat, Dean, Elvis, Brenda Lee, and Frank aren't too bad either. I love trimming the tree and listening to this stuff. Anybody have some favorites I can download?

Tramp, No emails, and as far a snail mail, just some gun show flyers, bank statements, and sample pack of hair remover.
Yep!, the "crooners" are my favorite Christmas singers!
Time for a bourbon shot!!!

San! Whats up with the leap from the primate era to the iron age? Many moons ago I used to "road rally" in MG's, Triumph's, and eventually graduated to an "E" type Jag. But your avatar kinda looks like Austin Healey's or something. What's cookin'?

Well, Jon, that yupster crowd we were discussing in the other thread has been sucking up these $4000 push pedal cars.

Image

Can you imagine the look on young "Buffy" or "Brandon"'s face when they get one of these? What the heck will they want when they are 16? Will a $492,000 Maybach be good enough?

Image

I live near a somewhat upscale high school named Torrey Pines. The little snots that go there have better wheels than I do. There's a neighborhood joke:

Q. What do you call a Torrey Pines student with a BMW 325i?

A. Poor.

The nice thing about that crowd is that one doesn't really need to seek them out for isolation. They seem to find self limiting behavior all on their own.

That being said, I like the British sports cars of the late forties and fifties, and the lineup of the replica push pedal cars made a nice avatar.

Besides, being a chimp is no babe magnet, don't you know?

San

PS: See the $4000 wonders at http://www.zoospeed.com. Can you believe it? They were advertised in the New Yawkar magazine I found in the dentist's office.

Nice, Daisy, you're a Val. I am of an age that I dated Vals from the Topanga Mall when I went to high school. Valley girls. Venice boy. Every sentence they uttered started with "So, like, I go...". Every sentence I uttered started with "Dude, where's the surf, ..." Most of them didn't have Beemers. A pink Ford Mustang convertible was the item then. I had a mustard colored Studebaker Lark station wagon that I used to drive from beach to beach. Another unfortunate choice on my part wrt babe magnets. Even Vals wouldn't "give" to a guy with a car that looked like this:

Now, imagine it in mustard.

San, LOL LOL! That car is so fugly, it's beautiful! Puts me to mind of my friend's Dodge Dart. He was dyslexic, so it was always his Darge Dot.

Tramp, tell your mother I love her.

Well folks, Kim and I work on Christmas day, so tonight's our Christmas Eve, and the fatman comes tomorrow, and with our luck, we'll be levitated out of bed about 0500. We got our 2nd son a Daisy Red Ryder pump-action BB gun, and yes, I know he'll put his eye out. On the other hand, we'll finally be safe from Black Bart, so it will be no small price to pay. We all must make our sacrifices.

Me, (the kids finally being in bed), I'm kicking back with one sweet-tasting beer, washing down a plateful of cookies. It's a tough job, but somebody has to step up to the plate, knowhatimean?

We've been asked how Santa can come a day early. DUH!! E-mail, baby! But Santa only does special-ops if there truly is need, so the rest of you pilgrims have to wait another day. Too bad, so sad.

But from the heart of Pennsylvania anthracite country, Feliz Navidad! Love you hobos, everyone.

Petey,

You, Kim, and the boys have a great Christmas tomorrow. Just tell number two son not to point that thing at anybody.

I recently got a pellet gun to control rabbits. I thought it was high powered. The pellets just bounce off the critters and they blink. Now that they know it can't hurt them, they don't even bother to scamper off when I wave it around out there in the back. I am starting to feel like Elmer Fudd. "That dwatted wabbit!"

San

PS: Now that I am older, I kind of think the Lark is rather "retro". It would be a nice alternative to the Lincoln Navigators piloted by Stepford Wives around here. My association probably has restrictions against cars like the Lark on driveways.

Pray for me this day, O-gauge Brethren. The wife has decreed that I accompany her to the mall this morning for some last minute gift buying. It's a woman thing, I think. It's really evil of her!! But there may be a silver lining to this dark cloud as we will pass by the hobby shop. :D Sadly though, mostly what they carry anymore is r/c crap. The train section used to take up 4 aisles!! Now it's just a mere shelf in the back corner of the store. Maybe something will catch my eye.

I'm praying for you Jon! Especially since I just read your Christmas story, I'm praying, I"M PRAYING REALLY REALLY HARD!

So. Anything catch your eye?

ps. San, I think that's a definite retro delight. No color but mustard would do for me.
