Nurse at work was talking about her son today, a freshman in college. She said he wanted to go to Italy for the summer, said "he could get three credits studying a broad".

Cripes. I studied a broad many a time, never got any credit for it.

San, you're right about Sears. I picked this Kenmore up at thier appliance blowout. I know it's a top loader, but it does get pretty good milage around town.

Jon, what I love about the Craftsman label on those things is that if it breaks you can return it to any Sears store and they give you a new one with no questions asked.

Jeepers. All this hubbub about washers and the start of the holiday season has left me a tad dipsomaniacal!

dipsomania - [n] an intense persistent desire to drink alcoholic beverages to excess

Dipsomaniacs here in the jungle? I am shocked to find that out.

In this morning's paper, there was a full page advertisement for an electric stove by Siemens. WTF? Bosch dishwashers and laundry equipment. Now this. Is there a plot afoot by the Europeans to subvert our American way of life through household appliances?

I am going to notify the authorities.

Hey, I was at the lab today researching partical beam theory and how it may apply to personal hygiene, when this line from a childrens poem went through my head,"Rub-a-dub-dub, three men in a tub". And I thought to myself, what the hell is going on here? Why would three men be in a tub? Do parents actually read this to thier kids? Just wondering.

Jon, whoever wrote that was on purple double dome.

The butcher the baker the candlestick maker?

They all jumped out of a rotten potato?

I never read that crap to my kids. There are just too manny issues. Are the butcher, baker, and candlestick maker sitting in the tub in tandem or abreast of each other? Nobody wants to be specific about that, do they?

San, I've been lying here really thinking about it, and I think the "tub" is just a metaphor for the corporate system these businessmen are all stuck in together. I haven't figured out the "rotten potato" yet.

San! My God I love that! Is it a chimp or a rotten potato?

How about this:

Hot cross buns!
Hot cross buns!
One a penney, two a penney,
Hot cross buns!

Hot cross buns!
Hot cross buns!
If you have no daughters,
Give them to your sons!

Hmmmmmm.
