Tramp, Christmas-like or not, you gotta speak with your heart. I respect your opinion.

It is kinda early for the Christmas spirit, I say we go whip up on a chimp!!!
( thats what we get when the bottom of his cage is lined with early Christmas sales papers!!)

NEIL YOUNG - Down By The River Lyrics
Be on my side,
I'll be on your side,
baby
There is no reason
for you to hide
It's so hard for me
staying here all alone
When you could be
taking me for a ride.

Yeah, she could drag me
over the rainbow,
send me away
Down by the river
I shot my baby
Down by the river,
Dead, oh, shot her dead.

You take my hand,
I'll take your hand
Together we may get away
This much madness
is too much sorrow
It's impossible
to make it today.

Yeah, she could drag me
over the rainbow,
send me away
Down by the river
I shot my baby
Down by the river,
Dead, oh, shot her dead.

Be on my side,
I'll be on your side,
baby
There is no reason
for you to hide
It's so hard for me
staying here all alone
When you could be
taking me for a ride.

Yeah, she could drag me
over the rainbow,
send me away
Down by the river
I shot my baby
Down by the river,
Dead, oh, shot her dead.

I thought it was really Christmas-like myself. I think Christ would've liked it.

Anyway, Merry Christmas already! And thanks JimPerrine for the photos, including those of Jessica. I expect your family will have an especially sweet holiday with her around.

So. If we're starting this early, where's the freaking eggnog? Rumplemintz?

I think San has already hit the egg-nog.

Jon,

The downside to the season is when relatives like that one show up. Last year, in his Santa suit, he drank all the coconut milk, ate every banana we had, and crapped all over the house.

San. I know, man. My relatives feel the same way about me.

How do you manage to keep your socks so clean, Jon?

I'm really into laundry now. I just spent my last dime on this 2,000 dollar washing machine my wife INSISTED she couldn't live without. Then I've spent days trying to sweat pipe to the sucker, run 220 to it; it required three special fuse boxes. Houses have been known to lift off their foundations when this sucker spins. It will spin at about 2000 RPM. A dollar a revolution? It sings, folds clothes, about the only thing it won't do is buck[f]. No trains for me this year. AGAIN.

Now am I in the goddamn Christmas spirit or what? Jingle, jingle.

C'mon, Tramp. There's no such thing as a 2,000.00 washer. If there was it would be outlawed for just that reason. You bought a brass challenger did'nt ya? :D

Scary, Jon. If that Santa had fur and prehensile feet he would be the image of my Uncle Clyde last Christmas Eve after mixing Sterno with the coconut milk. What a stink bomb.

Tramp, what's with laundry? I also got nicked this year to the tune of several locomotives worth of "high efficiency, horizontal axis laundry equipment". You would think we were sterilizing towels for an ER. They do have the windows in the doors, though, and are more fun to watch (when operating) than most television.

I know this isn't a washing forum, but which machinery raped your wallet? Yeah, mine had to have that glass door deal too. Freaking washer is worth more than my car. Did you have to do all the plumbing and wiring yourself? Does yours boil and mulch and massage?

Jon, I'm just hoping the Berk will run. I do have my new reefer. Did you get one?

Ended up with the Kenmore HE models. Bloody fortune for a darn Sears washer and dryer.

The laundry room was plumbed and wired OK. It was the colateral damage that nailed me. New washer and dryer made the cabinets look bad, so ended up painting them, putting in new Corian counter top on utility sink, new faucets, moved it all out and put in new linoleum, vacuumed the woolies out of the dryer exhaust venting, and installed a new gas shut off valve.

To save money, I picked them up at the store. Bad idea. These things weigh a ton and sit on pedistals so that you don't have to bend over to look inside. I ended up using the floor jack to get the pallet at the right height.

It was three weekends before I got it all finished and I kept hearing "Are you done yet?"

These things we're getting are German, thus the weird 220 plug. They use about a cup of water for 10 loads. The control panel requires a 12 hour seminar to run. You have to get a diploma before you can wash a T-shirt. Modern world. I've had three 50 dollar units that have lasted 30 years. I guess this is payback.

You mean, like, for WWII? I thought the Bosch dishwasher was enough retribution for that. You need a BMW mechanic to tune the thing.

The first time my dad saw a Toyota, his comment was "I knew those harbor bombers would get even with us." My dad was a bit crusty and never did quite get over the depression or WWII.

San, Bosch it is! I meant for forcing my wife to wash with a 50 dollar machine that only worked in the warm weather. No drier. Clothes line and these odd wood drying racks. Laundromat in winter. I was wicked due.
