Does the non-standard coupler height reflect the Chinese "Its Good Enough" quality philosophy or did Atlas specify low couplers.
Is there a standard for three rail coupler height?

As Maxwell Smart used to say, "Damn! Missed it by that much!"

Daisy, congrats on your thousandth post. My own went by last week unceremoniously, but what better time than New Years Eve to crack a grand? Happy New Year to the Far North East Hobo and Hoboette.

Wayne & San
How do you get to Philippe's from Union Station? Some friends and my wife and I are going to take the train down from Lancaster for the day and would like to eat there.
Thanks George

George, head out the front entrance of Union Station to Alemeda Street. Olvera Street will be almost across the street. Proceed about two blocks north on Alemeda Street. Cross Alemeda Street to the west side. Philipe's is on the Northwest corner.

Union Station is at 800 N Alemeda Street
Philipe's is at 1001 N Alemeda Street

Wayne, the slide show is simply great. I am going to dub this Mary, Wayne and Tom's excellent adventure. Thought of Hev when we we in the fire station. Lot's of cool goodies in there like the call box system, fire carriage turntable, and the chemical wagon.

Happy New Year you hobos.

Wayne & San,
Sounds as though it would have been fun, I've been spending a lot of time at the museum lately and the day after Christmas we had the Kids Club running the layout for the day.
No parties tonite, back to the museum at 8am tomorrow. The wives will be dropping in later in the day and I be cooking lunch for them and the crew.
Caesar Salad, Maple Pork Chops & Candied Yams.
Trains, What Trains?
:)
Happy New Year All !

Doug,

Caesar Salad, Maple Pork Chops & Candied Yams.

Sounds like a fine New Years Day repast.

Have you crossed the way to see the Dead Sea Scrolls?

Me, I am making Cincinnati Chili for tomorrow's Rose Bowl (to be served four way; I hate beans, no Hoppin John for me). Oddly, I find myself backing Tommy Trojan.
