Pete, best card ever. Really like this one very much.

I don't know what I was thinking when a few years ago I sold my Atlas TMCC Santa Fe SW zebra stripe on Ebay. Ever since I've missed the heck out of that little switcher!!! Well, it looks like ol' Santa ain't forgot neither. He found another one. Brand spankin' new in the box for 190.00. And ol' Santy's got her loaded up in his sleigh for special delivery. Lucky me. :D

I really like that scale pilot and steps, but that hollow in the front really makes that coupler look HUGE. Where'd ja get a deal like that. TMCC and all?

I just got the NYC GP9 set set up under the tree, right on the carpet. My son gets my grandson for 5 hours tomorrow, and I'm gonna let him bust it up. :lol:

Petey,

Gotta echo Tramp on the card. I love the cards and keep them beyond each Christmas Season. Leah's poem was just perfect. She and the other sacks of spuds are the best gift you could ever get. My Tiffany and Rosie are special to me, and I know that feeling.

This evening, I got out a mailing tube from a certain hobo associate in (let's just say) down east. It arrived several seasons ago. My evening project is mounting the rather striking images and they are going up in the train room. Along with the Christmas cards. And the tin cup. And the lump of coal. I have been blessed my association with you guys.

Looking forward to meeting Wayne and any of his entourage that come along next week. If he and his consent to it, I'll post some pictures. I have always envied the gatherings in PA., so it will be nice to connect with another hobo.

Andre, The two outer loops won't have turn-outs. The inner two will have them using Atlas #5 or #7's for sidings. I had a great day in the train house flipping the original plywood over to start fresh (I could'nt scrape all the damn glued ballast off to level crap) and was amazed that no cutting or trimming was required! The old :"measure twice, cut once" rule, really works!!! I'll start tomorrow with nailing it back down. For now we've got tornado warnings in effect with some serious weather rolling in!!!!

Damn!! I cut it twice and it's still too short! :lol:

Jon, did you play with the Atlas software for layout design? I've been foolin' with this for 4 years now, finally gettin' the hang of 7.0 vs 5.0. Those #5s and #7.5s really eat up some real estate. If I turn my woodshop into a train room, I'd have a 28 x 14 (inside dimension) room for trains. To come out of an 090 or 099 curve on each end, and to try to put a yard in between only leaves about 18' to get off the main, into the yard, and then back out on the main again. Of course, if I want to be able to get in from either track, then I'd need a pair of #5s on the mains at either end, then another to begin the yard entrance. That takes another 5' off of each end, which ain't leavin' me a whole hell of a lot of room to put in a yard. :shock:
