Every shot with the York crew on board looks great.

Jon, I really enjoyed your overview photos. Would I ( and D) ever love to be down there for a train running and beer session. I bet it's really something special. You make me want to build a layout. Maybe someday when I get this damn house completely painted. I glanced at the 3rd floor today as I pulled the final set of windows. And I thought: train room.

Mitch, clock story to appear.

Tramp, the Pennsy cup was for the winner of the Mitch-fish contest.

That would be ... um... YOU.

The other items were some crap I had hanging around of which I needed to be rid.
Now it's yours.

Thanks, Tramp. Small parts are done when I can get to them, highlighting certain areas for still shots. But I'm not gonna kill myself as its temporary and a permanent layout will eventually evolve.

One of my favorites was the death of Mr. Hat guy one. Completely cracked me up, especially with how sweet it was with your great voice and your sweet son.

Jon, have you done anything with layout software? Got somethin' in mind? Goin' with Atlas or Gargraves? I'm a total loss when it comes to layout plannin'. Been screwin' around with RTS 5.0 and 7.0 for nearly 4 years and still can't settle on anything. Can't even decide what I'm gonna do for my grandson's Christmas layout, and it's damn near October. I apparently have no imagination, whatsoever. Got some layouts stored in RTS 7.0 and I PMed Wayne to get posting instructions.... Then tried for 3 hours yesterday, but can't seem to get it. When it comes to computers, I'm as dumb as a friggin' fence post. :)

Mitch, I've pretty much narrowed my choice down to Ross track and switches. I'm not sure yet if I want to go with 88 or 96 dia. When I decide I'm gonna order a "loop" and "work" it on my layout with measurements. Old fashioned approach, I guess. But I'll enjoy it.

No you are not Mitch. Most of us had some trouble figuring photo posting out. It is too late tonight, but I will post a new topic on the subject tomorrow.

In the meantime, see if this post helps:

Jon:
I start to use gargraves track, flexi and no flexi, is good stuff except the switches, they are sucks, the frog is glued and pop out when you are installing the pins. Ross is better ($$$) or curtis. Don forget to buy a dremel tools.
The reason why I like gargraves is they use wood ties stainless steel and is a national product. (switches are plastic)
good luck
Andre.

Jon, considering the size of your steamers, I would highly recommend 096 if you can fit it. If you can manage a loop of something even bigger, I would recommend that as well. Seeing a big articulated on 0120 with a string of passenger cars is a nice sight, but of course you have to have the room.

Tramp, My layout is 14' X 14'. I'll give a call to Ross this morning and find out the radius of each.

Gargraves flex track is really good.

THE SECRET TO A LONG AND HAPPY MARRIAGE

Jon was going to be married to Kathy, so his father sat him down for a little chat.

He said, "Jon, let me tell you something. On my wedding night in our honeymoon suite I took off my pants, handed them to your mother, and said, "Here - try these on."

She did and said,"These are too big, I can't wear them. " I replied, "Exactly, I wear the pants in this family and I always will." Ever since that night we never had any problems.

"Hmmm," said Jon. He thought that might be a good thing to try.

On his honeymoon, Jon took off his pants and said to Kathy, "Here - try these on." She tried them on and said, "These are too large. They don't fit me." Jon said, "Exactly. I wear the pants in this family and I always will. I don't want you to ever forget that. "

Then Kathy took off her pants and handed them to Jon. She said, "Here - you try on mine."

He did and said, "I can't get into your pants."
Kathy said, "Exactly. And if you don't change your smart *** attitude, you never will."

And they lived happily ever.
