Hey kid, same place I was looking! 8) :D

Yeah, had another great time, though this time I had the kids in drag, but the history of the joint was lost on them. Too young. :cry:

I was so disappointed in the video I took with my camera last year, that I took mostly video, and wound up with only a very few still-photos this year. My one egregious miss was Hev's JD-B with his 'drag-stack' in place. SOB, did that thing BARK! I can't believe I didn't get that on video. Maybe in October.

I DID get this picture of Tori and Leah, (who were thick as thieves all day long! LOL), playing with some Amish kids. This guy had a hit-and-miss engine pushing a pump that turned a water-wheel, and attached to the hub was a smaller wheel studded with soap-bubble-wands, which dipped into a bucket of soap-water at their bottom, and passed in front of a small fan at the top, such that it was kicking out a storm of bubbles all day. Big hit with the younger set! 8)

Here's a picture of one of Hev's beautiful pieces of equipment that kept drawing attention all day, an antique tiller. Maybe the big guy will describe it's history.

Me, I was mostly trying to focus on the bazillion antique engines that were spread all over the property. Video, mostly, as I find their sound so hypnotic.
Came across this one though, and it's name was so peculiar that I had to take a photo.
Reminds me of a guy I know...

And one more. You all know how Hev will talk about his Fire Company, and some of their exploits.

Well, I don't want to say his farming locale is backward,
and I don't want to say that his Fire Company ain't all he says it is,
but here is the Witmer Fire Company, total and entire...

I especially like that fire engine.And I think engine is the proper term.

That looks like a really lovely fair. Tramp and I are headed to the Union Fair today to see if my zucchini won a ribbon. Cross your fingers.

How do you judge zucchini? Eat it? Size ,weight ,shape,color????

I'm typing with a wireless laser keyboard I just installed on my puter. This thing is really cool................... 8)

It's nice not having cables everywhere...................

Sorry you didn't win anything, Daisy, but it's a funny thing about zucchini. You go out to the garden and you see a nice one, about 8" long and 2" thick, and you think, I'll get that one tomorrow. The next day you go to pick it, and the SOB is 20" long and 4 1/2" through the middle. :shock: Still good eating, though. My wife makes zucchini pie, casserole, fried, and sometimes, just split them longways, seed 'em out, paint them with butter, sprinkle down with some minced garlic, salt, and fresh cracked pepper, and bake 'em. The zucchini season is over for us, here. Got the last one the other day.


Nice tractors, don't even have any dirt on 'em, yet.

Yeah. Guess I assumed the bigger the zucchini the better. But it was declared "inedible" by the Maine State Agricultural Board.

The seeds are too large.

Should have a clear, shiny, skin, fresh and tender with a small seed cavity and thick flesh. Largest sizes are undesirable in this crop. Zucchini should be 6 to 7 inches long.

I know I'm a boring farmer who knows the rules. What can I say.

Hey Renovo, nice machine! How much horsepower? I have a '49 Farmall Super-A. It was 20 HP brand-new, which probably means it's in single digits at this point. :cry:
Your land looks beautiful in the background, but then I'm fond of Pennsylvania farmland! :wink: How about some scenery shots someday?

I see Tramp and D have been drawn to the tractor darkside!!!!
Reno, You must grow some dang big 'maters out that way for tractors like that!!!!!!!! :D
