Hobo Jungle
Cowboy
A cowboy, who is visiting Wyoming from Texas, walks into a bar and orders
three mugs of Bud. He sits in the back of the room, drinking a sip out of
each one in turn. When he finishes them, he comes back to the bar and
orders three more. The bartender approaches and tells the cowboy,
"You know, a mug goes flat after I draw it. It would taste better if you bought one at a time."
The cowboy replies, "Well, you see, I have two brothers. One is in
Arizona the other is in Colorado . When we all left our home in Texas, we
promised that we'd drink this way to remember the days when we drank
together. So I'm drinking one beer for each of my brothers and one for
myself."
The bartender admits that this is a nice custom, and leaves it there.
The cowboy becomes a regular in the bar, and always drinks the
same way. He orders three mugs and drinks them in turn. One day, he comes in
and only orders two mugs. All the regulars take notice and fall silent. When
he comes back to the bar for the second round, the bartender says, "I don't
want to intrude on your grief, but I wanted to offer my condolences on
your loss." The cowboy looks quite puzzled for a moment, then a light dawns in
his eyes and he laughs. "Oh, no, everybody's just fine," he explains, "It's just that my
wife and I joined the Baptist Church and I had to quit drinking."
"Hasn't affected my brothers though."

Running that red block Charlie.
Bad news, Bro. It's a total bomb. The drivers sit and spin then catch running down the track a couple of feet and stalling, the sounds go on and off and then it dies.
I took off the shell and found the motor mounts loose-tightened them but the track results are about the same. I'm not sure if its worth my time diving into it or sending it back for a refund.

Hey, hey, hey. Finally some rain. Went out on the side porch to sit on the glider and watch it. One Great Dane sittin' on my lap, the other with his great head tucked under my left arm. The thunder is rollin' pretty good, then it really started comin' down in buckets, (like a cow pissin' on a flat rock)! Finally it started rainin' sideways, and me and the boys had to come in.
Sorry about your new engine, Jon. At least it wasn't a brand new Lionel!

That would mean that 3rdRail would have spare parts to fix it. I don't know what the hell it is about the other manufacturers. It ain't like the motors and drive train change every year. The electronics may change, but the rest of the stuff, some of this has been the same for 10 years, why the hell can't you get what it takes to make it work? Friggin' automakers are the same way. Use every damned part they make to go into new production, and if you need and engine or tranny, it takes 3 weeks to a month, 'til they pull one from the line and ship it to you.
Guys get pissed about buyin' a $1000 engine, and there's no parts to fix it. How about when you buy a $35,000 car, the tranny goes out, and you'll have to get a rental for a month or 6 weeks 'til we can fix it.
And you haven't even made a payment on the f$%ker yet.

Well this beats the crap outta anything I've ever seen before!!! Ya see the black "tubes" that connect the shafts to the gearbox's? They're friggin' rubber tubes!!!
They're not grabbing the metal shafts and causing the wheel slippage. Any idea's short of calling Gary tomorrow?

A driveshaft with no coupler mechanism? Just relying on the friction fit of a rubber tube to drive the gear boxes? Surely that is not factory! Somebody had to have been in there before you got this one. On the other hand, it certainly would make a less stressful start if the tubes were superglued to the shaft. You could always dissolve the glue with nail polish remover if it didn't work.
But what about getting them perfectly timed. How would you line up the drivers?
