My little project of the evening was installing bridge shoes. You can spot two of them just under the inner girder/stringer. Prototypical would be to put one under the outer and one under the inner girder/stringer. The outer stringer does no load bearing with the Atlas Truss Bridge model and the inner girder/stringer has a metal reinforcement strip inside of the plastic that carries the weight of the bridge and any trains on it. So I chose to put both of them there. I had to offset them to one side of the bridge pier so as not to interfere with an angle brace. Seems there are always compromises.
