LOL, San!! Its know wonder that 3rd Rail has some M-1000's still for sale!!!!!! Yuck!!!!! Getting back to the Lionel version compared to 3rd Rails version of the CB&Q (by the way 3rd Rail also made a Flying Yankee and a Mark Twain Version) If you look closely at the air screens at the top front of Lionels version compared to 3rd Rail's the "casting" is almost toy like. That's what stopped me from placing a pre-order on it.

Tramp, here's some info on the engine: The first Zephyr was completed by Budd Company on April 9, 1934, powered by an 8 cylinder, 600 horsepower (447 kW), 8-201-A model Winton Motor Company engine.
Per Gary, the model was produced in 1998 with no TMCC or sounds!! All it has is an electronic e-unit.

And no, the only one of them I know for sure that exsists is in a junk yard on the east out skirts of Dugger Indiana! No tracks close to it, I guess it was hauled in with some other junk but there's a lead unit and a couple of cars sittin' in the dirt!

Gawd, I miss living in Europe
In a way, it's sad thet the Turboliner was not "saved" there will be some over-educated idiot that will make the same mistakes on yet another lightweight articulated trainset (think Mag-Lev) because none were saved.
