I choose not to be a part of the equation. Good decision making tends to target success. How many importers in O scale are left.......

I am certainly not buying a $10,000 SD40-2 with opening side doors. It’s a lot harder to sell 2000 dollar models than 500 dollar models. Ah, the inheritacracy, , that’s a social platforming buzz word that has been spun around. AI came up with this definition: Inheritocracy is a social and economic concept describing a society where a person's life chances, career trajectory, housing, and general success are determined by inherited family wealth and parental support (the "Bank of Mum and Dad") rather than individual merit, education, or hard work.

Figures that I would not know that specifically (I expected and suspected and you have confirmed my thoughts on the term) as I waste little time on social platforms; I have an actual life and spend my time in the my shop, listening to music.

I will however state that it now takes more than individual merit, education, or hard work to survive where I live. I know by just looking at my son's existence.

If what you say is true, taking someone's money on promised goods, never delivering, excuses or not, reasonable amount of time is not 10 years. Maybe 2-4, I am still not fully aware of the details behind all this. Yes that sucks. I was threatened by them, and I did not write anything acidic, only my anger towards the cyber-bullying committed by its fans, customers, investors, hired hate campaigns, or whatever they were. But I got notified, shut up or else. -be nice.

By who? I'm not questioning it happened, but those scumbags don't have a legal leg to stand on, so who's threatening you. When I bought my Challenger almost 20 years ago now, George did threaten my delivery if I didn't quit posting negative comments on forums. But, once it was delivered his leverage was gone and I said what I believed. The man is a delusional deviant *******. He's always taken too long to deliver a product and has nothing but lame excuses. He missed his calling.....he should have been a politician.

The only reason no one (that we know of) has sued either of these guys is that it will cost more to sue them in small claims court than it's worth. BUT, I'm truly amazed no one has done bodily harm to them. They are outright thieves in my book and you steal from me and you'll pay the price.

This one was public for all the world to see, and I can no longer find it. It was likely censored, removed at the time. Risk you take placing anything online, it can come back to haunt you. I try very hard to avoid doing that, including what I do here. But I cannot see how anyone can’t see this as a threat, legal or not, it definitely fits the following: Common words for a threatening or scaring tactic include intimidation, fearmongering (or scaremongering), coercion, and arm-twisting.

Key Terms and Definitions

• Intimidation: Using threats, menacing behavior, or aggressive actions to make someone feel afraid or compliant.
• Fearmongering: Spreading exaggerated or alarming rumors of danger on purpose to manipulate people.
• Coercion: Forcing someone to act against their will through pressure, threats, or duress.
• Arm-twisting: Using strong pressure or heavy-handed threats to force a decision or agreement.
• Bullying: Using superior strength, status, or intimidation to frighten or mistreat someone.
If you have a specific context in mind (such as politics, workplace behavior, or negotiations), let me know and I can give you a more exact term.

I also had several emails -Now I have no access to this forum anymore.. If the shoe fits,

Okay Erik, that's just some ignoramous on OGR spouting off.......most likely a reservation holder who is reguritating what was being posted at the time. There were a lot of reservation holders staying positive 4-5 years ago who are now singing a different tune. This was also about the time OGR started locking threads that had to do with MMW. The posts heated up quickly and I understand why they did that. It was very polarized and mostly "hurray for out side" kind of posts.

My Challenger experience was enough for me and I feel fortunate I got mine, even through it wasn't the road number I ordered. Supposedly half the orders came in during the fall (Sept-Oct) of 2013 and the other half was supposed to be delivered after the 1st of the year. I was speaking regularly with GK during 2013 and just after the first batch arrived, but when he told me my road numbers was still in Korea I insisted I get one of the models he had in stock......and he shipped it. I loath liars and this delay tactic was the last straw. Had he refused I would have paid him a visit. I spoke to some very well connected brass importers soon after I got my model and they told me some buyers never got their models.

They (the ignoramus) do tend to flock and roost there, and maybe even breed there for all we know; little to be believed as factual there as well. Hardly worth the effort.

I managed to get 2 cars glossed today while mowing the lawn so I have what might be the last 2 cars I'll get painted and decaled until we get warmer, sunnier weather. Split firewood yesterday, so it's about time to consider bringing in all the plants, clearing the gardens, and getting the grate back into the fireplace.

Winter is coming.....

Erik, I totally agree, but I'm not optimistic.

I can't figure out what it is, but there's something about those two photos that has always seemed a little off to me. My recollection is that those two photos are lower resolution than the other photos he posted and these two photos also lack EXIF data.

Looking at them again, it appears to me that some of the tarnish/dirt/discoloration patterns of the brass on the ends of the cars is somewhat identical on different cars. Maybe that's because of how jigs were used to solder the cars, or perhaps it was because photoshop was used to clone multiple cars from one or two actually assembled models?

Another thing that is odd to me is the depth of the shelves. I figure a factory building o-scale would have shelves deep enough to hold full length passenger cars. The shelves in the photos are not deep enough to hold full length passenger cars, but on the other hand the shelves do look to be about 50 centimeters deep. 50 cm seems to me like it would be a good standard shelf dimension in a country where the metric system is used.
