I think we are seeing some problems we've always had, but they seems to be more extreme today.

It's an acceptance of reality but it's also hardly anything new. But that we accept it as the status quo also says something.

I am not a historian, but if you take a quick look - humans seem to prefer a very powerful ruthless leader who ignores laws. The more liberal democracies are an anomaly - and even then they vote themselves out of it.

Might be saying humans want a strong leader so they don't have to be involved or worry about it and they can live their smaller lives. As long as the strong leader(s) do/does mostly what the followers want they're happy. It's when the strong leader(s) become omnipotent the wheels seem to come off the rails. History is full of psycho, deranged, omnipotent leaders and they are mostly the ones we hear about. Humans are flawed and need checks and balances and without them look out lulu.

$2.5 k for that AN piece is ridiculous. The other day I saw an SP mountain that was described as All Nation but was Scalecraft. There are some odd things happening on the bay.

The other piece you mentioned on eBay sitting on records in the phot looks to me like a CB&Q O-5. I actually enquired the seller about it to take a picture of the underside. He refused. He did not seem like a reasonable seller so I passed. I have more than enough projects to span the remainder of my life. Plus I do not model CB&Q.

I think it was worth the selling price. Did not consider CB& Q - but I think you are correct. Either an import or a really good scratchbuilt.

This market is so fickle I don't know what to say. A mint PSC Crown BB just sold for under $2200. This is the pièce de résistance of the KTM built PSC line. The last one sold for $5K maybe a year ago. No idea if this is one of kind price or ???

I'll say! 850 items - I had no idea that an old Swiss Army knife could bring a quarter grand! The wood EP 3 looks like a cheapo version of the Parmele & Sturgis - for a grand?

But with that kind of effort, they must be making big bucks. So let's assume a sucker is born every minute.

So that post got me searching for New Haven photos. The ones that are missing are the two switchers 0217 and 0218. I can find nothing. Not being your normal New Haven fan, I can sort of understand my lack of knowledge, but really - are these things figments of my imagination, or are they copies of something the railroad used?

This one was sent to me by a really nice guy in Connecticut, Fred Jacobs, about three decades ago, along with the switchers, which apparently belonged to one Watson House way back when.

It has two giant Pittman 9434s in it, driving CLW gearboxes. I bet the sprockets are cracked by now; it hasn't been run in two decades. I think I will add those strange crescent decorations.

Lots of odd stuff at extravagant pricing, but how many do you have to sell to make a profit......
