All scratch, soldered (not brass) and nailed together, and not coming apart to open it up. Strip it down or not? Add all the details and a drove of some sort....maybe wait for snow?

Yes, but too cheap to say no to in this case. I don't think that I can save the paint & lettering. Sad to destroy hand lettering...

Cover it over with letter board at the top, but the rest, well....lots of work...or is that fun?

Pull the nails, strip it, fill the holes. Multiple coats of black on the roof each followed by wire wool until smooth. Put it back together with a removable roof, paint, letter, glaze, power it. Robert is one of your parent's male sibling.

If the nails pull.....w/o distorting the sides too much. I think that the sides are soldered to the ends.

Roof has to get a lot more treatment than just paint and polish; canvas, roofwalk, poles, roof mats, and other fun details. Loads of details go on the underbody; probably have an underbody set that will work for this car.

Yes, that's probably all doable......except the powering bit.

Have to look over my current selection of trolley drives to see if I've got anything suitable that won't pop up through the floor too much. Nothing I dislike more about trolley modeling than looking at nice passenger equipment marred by a hole in the floor and the drive unit visible through the windows.

Build one of your signature structures. An old fashioned diner. I think it would sell well to both 2 or 3 railers. Tons of detail and the lettering is fantastic. Hit it was some dull coat to protect the patina.

Hmmmmm.... Now there's an interesting idea No need for underbody or drive trucks. Just a foundation and some scenery. Still think I need to get inside for adding the diner interior stuff.

Either way I need to figure out access - sides off, or roof/floor come off/out...have to look into both possible options.....

While thinking and maybe a bit of exploratory parts shopping, my focus for the next week or 3 is a Car Works Class B steepcab that was lurking on a shelf that got emptied and relocated to a traction project rack. Got a Wagner drive and trailing truck that I just need to turn into a self-contained unit....and hope for good dry warm weather -- could start painting it tomorrow,
