I've looked at the Crow River option several times for several projects....may have to look yet again...find one to modify to mount on trolley flat,

End view of #9 has more detail than I can contemplate installing.....but I've collected 4-5 photos now of various views. Another folder in the future projects folder on the external drive,

Finally finished off the ITS Class C. - replaced single drive with a matched pair of drives and lots of cleaning and tidying up, painting and all of everything other than the main body - some paint chips there but rather than strip and re=paint, sealed and left as is.

Very good looking locomotive build, Rufus.

I asked Google, "What are those cans on the ends of the ITS Class C locomotive platform?"

I don't see any cans on a Virginian EL-C.

The group on Trains Forum said they are sand boxes.

Is either of those answers, Air Tanks or Sand Tanks, correct?

The "columns" at the ends are sandboxes.

They've been around for a while:

Always wondered what they were.

Maybe we should call AI "alternative information". Grin!

I wonder why no-one has thought to teach AI that "I don't know" is often a perfectly appropriate answer.

Thank you, Rufus.

I see I wasn't the only one wondering what those cans were.

AI systems are well established to just make stuff up and then defend it as if true.....just like humans,

As much as I rather like it, I suspect it will eventually depart this locale. My interests tend to more focused on wood cars.
