Very nice looking model, though.

Thanks; was a rebuild job from what seems to be a fairly scarce kit...

Finally completed the timber tunnel. This will free up a bit more progress on the layout and more time to complete this god forsaken saw mill!

Well, you made a nice neat job of that. Is this for a "here's the liner, let's build a tunnel around it" project, or will you slide this inside one already on the layout?

Roof boards on.

MTH Brill Semiconvertible. I replaced the wheels with scale wheels but not insulated. Will be set up for overhead operation. I sanded off the molded in detail on the roof of the car and replaced the roofwalks with q car parts and boards made from styrene strip.

I use Flickr, and here's my somewhat convoluted process for attaching images:

1) from the Flickr photostream, click on the image you want to use;
2) four icons will appear at the lower right, click on the one that looks like an arrow pointing to the right (share photo);
3) a box pops up that is headed by "Share 1 photo to:", click on "embed";
4) highlight the entire address that appears in the box, then hit <ctrl> C;
5) go back to your MTJ post, position your cursor a couple lines below your text, then hit <ctrl> V;
6) the address you copied in step 4 will appear on the line (like this):

<a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/152205416@N06/28978330178/in/dateposted-public/" title="Lionel 2046"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/1828/28978330178_f8899c0c1d_o.jpg" width="900" height="675" alt="Lionel 2046"/></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

7) delete everything but the bit in red:

<a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/152205416@N06/28978330178/in/dateposted-public/" title="Lionel 2046"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/1828/28978330178_f8899c0c1d_o.jpg" width="900" height="675" alt="Lionel 2046"/></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

'8) highlight the entire remaining string, then hit the "Img" button on the tool-bar at the top of your post; the address will have at either end;

9) hit the "Preview" button and you should see your post complete with the image. If it looks good, hit the "Submit" button.

There may be a more efficient way of doing this, but this is my method. It might seem painful, but after you successfully do it a few times, it becomes second-nature.

I tried to help out a little on hosting photos on the 2 rail forum. Lots of ways to do it and some of these guys maybe a little older and set in how they want to do things. That’s ok, more than one way to post photos.

Some of them should write it down or paste your instructions into a files and save them

Thank you! I’m going to place it and do a plaster cloth build up around it. I guess from your photo it appears to be entirely encased more or less inside the mountain.

The last one I did I left it slightly exposed so I could enjoy the fruits of my labor. The kits are around 100$ plus the build. I hate to bury the entire thing in the mountain. So maybe not completely prototypical but then again neither is 3 rail.

Making instructions for something like this is tough, especially when you're grabbing bits of scripts, etc., and it's not exactly an intuitive process for the reader.

Fully agree. I couldn’t even do it and have it make sense the way your written instructions do. I have to do screen shot photo tutorial for it to hopefully make sense.
