The White House announced Wednesday it will require travelers from China to test negative for COVID-19 prior to arrival in the U.S. — a policy that will come less than two years after candidate Joe Biden suggested then-President Donald Trump's restrictions on travel from China were xenophobic.

These are 2 different things that are apples and pomegranates at best - one was closing the boarders to travelers from China; one is allowing travelers from China in that pass a Covid test.

In any case, requiring a Covid test of travelers from China is long overdue.

What about those from china that have flown to another country and then to the US.. ? That was the big problem last time they were coming in from other countries

Easy. That can be tracked through their passport and visa. That gets checked at Customs & Immigration at the airport that are staffed with people lacking a sense of humor. Passenger manifests can also be correlated for tracking purposes - you can bet that's very doable and active since 9/11.

Another question is why China is having a problem with the virus. I thought they had a vaccine that worked they gave to everyone

Lots of people travel with two passports. If you leave China on a Chinese passport and fly to Canada with it. You can then fly or drive to the USA on your American passport or state issued driver's license. Your giving Government agencies way to much credit.
China may have one million cases a day of covid with people saying that will double in the coming days. Some say they are not reporting deaths. I don't know. This appears to be "The new normal"

China is lifting the lock downs because their economy is suffering so badly. Just last week they still had up to 500 per day dying with covid. At least that was what was reported. We believe that the world had 6 million covid deaths, but then China would say they only had 1 death? Remember that? We had thousands dying and they only had one? NOT!! They are incredible liars and will do whatever to save face. There is a good possibility that way more than 1 million died in China. It has also been reported that a huge city west of Wuhan, (can't recall the name), had severe cases of covid as early as July of 2019. That's months before we even found out about it.

Not just the Chinese. There are others that travel to and from China.

You can then fly or drive to the USA on your American passport or state issued driver's license.

If you have a US passport and a 2nd one from another country, that's a legal problem. You need a passport coming in from Canada. My last trip there required it. And the 2nd one will not show how you got into Canada. That lack of an entry stamp will be noted.

perfectly legal to have two passports. Even more if you can get them. My wife and daughter have two. They travel to Europe with a Slovak passport and home on a US. passport. This saves them from needing a visa if they are to stay over X amount of months. It also is cheaper. No entry tax is needed.

I'm going to tell you " US. custom, boarder patrol and TSA are stupid!" We had a go around in JFK airport. They said " My daughter's Slovak passport was expired and see could not travel with out a return ticket or renewed passport." I don't remember the exact dates of her passport or their travel departure. I will tell you "Europe dated things in a different format." A European date of 03/11 2022. This date is not March 11 2022. It's November 11 2022. I spent a month fighting for their airfare refund.

Yes, you can have 2 US passports. I did for international travel.

But to have 1 US and another country's, you generally have valid dual citizenship, and to re-enter the US you should be using the US passport which should be exit stamped from your departure point.

The media is tossing 3 new conspiracy theories to go along with it so far. It was the Republicans, it was the DNC, or it was Kamala! I'd rule out the Republicans, and insert the Chinese.
