Re: Seen in Print

Inflation's a bitch.
Re: Seen in Print
Those prices hung on for a while too. I can remember in the mid 60's you could get 2 burgers, a fry and a drink for $.50. But gas was 19.9 to 24.9 a gallon as well. 3-4 friend could empty their pockets of change and you could buy 10 gallons and drive around all night.

I can't remember the exact year but it was early '60s the first McDonalds in the area opened in Lower Burrell, Pa. You got a Big Mac, fries, and a milkshake for $0.49. Costs you about $8 or $9 to eat there now.
If you agree with the Progressives, it's freedom of speech. If you disagree, it's hate speech. There are no alternatives.

Roughly 60 years ago; what were you getting paid/hr then?
Do not wait to strike till the iron is hot; but make it hot by striking.

When I was a kid, we went to Gino’s, not McDonald’s. The Old Man was a huge Baltimore Colts fan, so he took us to Marchetti’s chain, not Ronald’s
Menu offerings and prices were similar. Gino’s had the Gino Giant, which competed with the Big Mac. You went inside, bought your food, then ate it in the car. Good times.

My first job after graduating college in ‘78 paid an annual salary of $9800. The Seventies were brutal.
