WASHINGTON, Aug. 16, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- The Federation for American Immigration Reform issued the following statement, as well as a deeper dive into the growing border crisis, based on data quietly released yesterday by the Biden administration:

Earlier this month, President Biden took credit for the July inflation rate being "only" 8.5 percent. Now that July border numbers are finally public, the White House may take credit for the fact that "only" 199,976 illegal aliens crossed our border, down from 207,416 in June. A minor drop in border encounters is not encouraging. Traditionally, numbers drop in the hottest summer months, and last month's figures actually represent a 325 percent increase over the average number of July apprehensions under the Trump administration. More significantly, July numbers bring the total of illegal aliens crossing our borders since President Biden took office to 4.9 million, including some 900,000 "gotaways" who eluded apprehension and have since disappeared into American communities.

"Roughly the equivalent of the entire population of Ireland has illegally entered the United States in the 18 months President Biden has been in office, with many being released into American communities. In that time, the Biden administration has blamed an unprecedented surge of illegal immigration on all sorts of external factors, except their own sabotage of our nation's immigration laws. The endless flow of illegal aliens and the incursion of lethal narcotics pouring across our border will not end until this administration demonstrates a willingness to enforce our laws," said Dan Stein, president of FAIR.

Since President Biden took office, nearly 4.9 million illegal aliens have crossed our borders.
This includes the 3.9 million nationwide total reported by CBP – which includes a whopping 3.4 million at our Southwest border – as well as approximately 900,000 gotaways who have entered the country undetected per agency sources.
CBP had 199,976 encounters at the Southwest border in July 2022, including 134,362 single adults, 51,822 family units, and 13,299 unaccompanied minors.
This is a 325 percent increase from the average number of July apprehensions under President Trump.
CBP has encountered more illegal aliens in just 10 months of FY 2022 than in the entirety of FY 2021.
July was the 17th straight month with more than 150,000 encounters.

For the sake of those who may not have watched the entire video (it was long), I thought it objective in tone, informative, and even-handed. It included interviews with an expert on police use of force, one of Trump's chief of staff, and several victims of the January 6th riot, and some of the family members of the deceased. Some takeaways:

• According to the expert on police use of force Stan Kephart, the Capitol Police behaved in an undisciplined and uncontrolled manner. They did not appear to be under anyone's command. They initiated the riot by firing plastic munitions into what was a largely well-behaved crowd that had peaceably assembled (that's the 1st Amendment of the Constitution for you liberals). There is abundant video showing the Capitol Police randomly firing into crowds that are not surging towards any barricades. There is also body-cam video of one out-of-control cop using up all his ammo and running around trying to get more. No where did I see where this was justified. Nor did I see most of the other police react in this manner.
• Nancy Pelosi is responsible for deliberately leaving the Capitol unsecured that day. Two days prior, President Trump offered to deploy 20,000 National Guard troops to protect the area. Pelosi and the Mayor of DC ignored the offer. By law, such deployment must be requested by local authorities. Both the House and Senate's Sergeant At Arms were spoken to by one of Trump's Chief of Staff and offered these troops. Both declined. Same for DC Mayor Bowdeen, who declined in writing on January 5th. Capitol Police also declined on January 5th.
• Legal pursuit / prosecution of those present was unrelenting and totally unwarranted. Over 850 people, most of whom were guilty (at most) of misdemeanors, were hunted down and arrested - often with the use of SWAT teams. Many of these were charged with felonies, held for months without bail or even without being charged. Those are clear violations of the 4th Amendment and due process of law.
• Some Trump supporters threw items and committed acts of vandalism, but the vast majority were well behaved and peaceful. The video evidence (the entire body, not the excerpts played repeatedly by the Mainstream Media for effect) is clear on that. The MSM also repeated a number of distortive and untruthful statements ad infinitum - and are still doing so despite the truth coming to light.
• No investigation into the shooting of Ashley Babbitt was ever conducted. Michael Byrd, the shooter, was never thoroughly investigated, charged, or even required to give a detailed statement. No forensic tests on the shooters clothing or skin were ever run. The name of the shooter was withheld for months.
• In the video, Ashley Babbit is seen punching someone (later identified as Zach Alam) who had just broken the glass in the Speaker's door. Fearing retaliation by him and others, she tries to escape through the broken window and is shot.
• Rosanne Boyland was incapacitated by a dispersent gas (removes all the oxygen in the room) fired into a packed tunnel by Capitol Police. This is a clear and dangerous violation of standard police practice. She passed out and died from repeated blows from police batons while she was incapacitated on the ground. The crowd desperately tried to rescue her while the Capitol and DC police beat her.
• About 80 individual "suspicious characters" appear in these videos visibly instigating violence or acts of vandalism. These actors were never pursued or even identified by the FBI. Ray Epps is one of those instigators; he was never arrested for his acts of incitement.
• Stan Kephart concluded that the event was largely an exercise in police entrapment.

The truth is often unkind to Liberals.

Would I ware clothes saying "FBI" If i did it might help me fit in with police. What if i supported Biden and throw on some MAGA gear? Or i Supported Trump and had a jacket say " Biden Harris" ? Spy v Spy. Who ever they were. They did not belong there.

I had not seen all the video from the event. There is a large amount of it. My initial thoughts (I didn't believe the MSM hyping of it as an insurrection) were that a few drunken yahoos took things a bit too far and trespassed inside the US Capitol Building. The shock came from watching members of the Capitol Police firing plastic munitions repeatedly into a crowd that was doing nothing. They worked hard to provoke a response.

And the nutjob cop beating someone repeatedly for no good reason; the person was down and not resisting. The cop was swinging so hard that he lost his baton, which was the only thing that made him stop. It was horrifying. People in the crowd were calling for prayer, were trying to help some of these victims, were trying to stop some of the vandalism.

Of course, the MSM is self-rightously spinning this as the MAGA folks attempting an insurrection. By any objective standard, Congress' January 6th Commission is a show trial worthy of the Soviet Union. It's sickening. It's the stuff you read about in 3rd world countries.

I don't think the police initiated the "hang Mike Pence" chants . Believe what you want, but a significant number of the Jan.6th rioters were there to try and stop the proceedings that lead to the new Presidency. That they were disorganized and incompetent is not a defense. That the Capitol building itself was poorly prepared is of course partly due to Trump himself and his supporters inside the government. Talk about fascists....
