Roads yes it took more than a day to build them. It also took more than a day for them to decay. Both parties have screwed up this one.

The point being that inflation and energy prices have nothing to do with who is in charge of the country, whether it be France or the USA. These are all about worldwide events and changes, primarily the pandemic and the war in Ukraine, and the policies of OPEC, etc. The reason gas prices have come down is primarily consumer demand, supply, etc. Inflation has primarily been about the disconnect between increased consumer demand worldwide, post-pandemic and inadequate supply due to companies downsizing and cutting production capabilities, particularly in China, the main exporting country in the world. When China locked down its manufacturing capabilities due to pandemic policies, supply became a chronic problem.

Bottom line is that the increases in energy prices and inflation began long before Biden came to office. One of the few gigantic problems the Trump administration had little or no hand in causing .

In France. Gas is $6.58 usd. $4.09 usd is tax. That brings a gallon of gas to $2.49 usd.
In Pennsylvania gas is $4.00 usd. With a total tax of 76 cents. That brings PA to $3.24 usd.
75 cents a gallon more than France. Is it possible they have less current weighting on them? Or we have higher inflation?

There is no war on the oil companies. Another piece of Republican nonsense. Their profits have never been larger and these companies used the international situation to increase their profits, rather than take a more socially responsible approach.

Promoting renewables and non-polluting strategies are health and survival approaches, not directed at the current oil companies. Breathing the products of coal and oil based energy sources kills people through cardiovascular and respiratory disease. And contributes to climate change. To survive climate change we need more non-polluting and non-warming strategies such as nuclear, solar, wind and geothermal, for examples.

Oil companies are global. Their not just an American thing. I’d like to see where their profits are the highest. There is lot of misinformation about gas prices.
Electric cars will not solve our problems. They may not even help in the long run. Help will only come from change of habits.(people don’t want to hear this) they look at me like i have snakes coming out of my ears. People commute to far for work, drive for almost no reason and can’t plan a simple short route. Very few around me want to give up their 6,000 lbs. all wheel drive SUV. People are moving into PA. From NJ. They end up commuting to NYC for work. Most driving some oversized gas guzzler. With only one person in it.
When ever someone mentions “ infrastructure “ it never has bike paths covered. I’m not saying people should bike from Doylestown to NYC. Biking to the grocery store is a start. Kids don’t even ride to school. If they do mom is behind them in her gas guzzling suv. Mom following the kids so they’re safe. So safe with her yapping on the phone 3 feet from her kids.

Cost effective? Short term or long term? PA. Sprays a liquid brine on the roads. They do this 2 days before a predicted storm. This stuff is destroying cars’ undercarriages. It’s destroying roads and running off in streams. Alternative is blow roads, people stay home for 2 days and let the sun melt what is left. If they predict a storm now. Schools are closed. People can stay home for a day or two. Emergency responders have 4 wheel drive and chains. It would only inconvenience us for 2-3 days
