WOW Robert. I think we call this GRASS ROOTS POLITICS. If you got 200 people to show up It looks you are on your way.

I remember one of the guys in my area had an event like yours and he got elected not once but twice.

I don't recommend this for you but I first saw this person at a local small gun show. I talked to him for awhile and liked what he had to say so i took one of his campaign poster to put in my front yard. He had my name ,address and phone number.

The 2nd time he ran he rented a building in town and sent out invites to a town hall event with hot dogs and drink to hear what he had to say.

It can be done Robert.... Go for it

Signature verification. Ugh. If your name is David and you sign my paper as DAVE. It does not count. Almost 30 percent of my obtained signatures don't count. The state board of elections will count them. Then the Republicans and democrats scrutinizes them. They will seek a court order to have them removed. It's hard to believe how many unregistered people signed. Back to the streets for more signatures!

In most cases the people have moved. Their signed address does not match voter registration. As of 10 am bucks had 5,700 applications in nerd of updating and another 4,000 new. I wont know for awhile if those help me. I hit a new subdivision hard. That accounts for 10 percent of my failures. If the people update their diver’s license. That will automatically do their voter info. Unless they opt out of automatic update. I have a month left to obtain more signatures.

Yes, you're chasing a moving target.

First official hurdle crossed. Receipt for handing nomination papers, candidate affidavit and financial statement, over to the state

Last night i had someone question me about my stance on fracking. I have knocked on almost 4,000 doors and this family's question was the first on fracking. I had to tell them "I really don't know". They both thanked me for my honesty and we went on to talk about fracking for awhile. On thing they were dead right about. A PA. rep will be headed down a path towards a fracking vote.
It's a hard call. After looking into several sites about fracking. It is tough to say if any of it is good info or paid for info. All i could tell this couple last night was " I don't think it would be beneficial to drinking/ground water." My stance on energy is to use less. While we try to find cheaper. When i talk with folks. I get a small view into their life. As small as that view is. I see how wasteful we all are. During the evening hours i see people sitting on their front porch enjoying their time. While every light is on in their home. I try to tell people we all need to do better. Lets use less energy. t's going to take everybody to make a change. even if it is as small as walking to the post office or local store once a week. Those little changes will add up across the board.
Funny thing is. When you talk to people you find that. Dems and repubs have the same fears and concerns. One group is to macho to tell you and the other is to emotional while they tell you. I have walked through part of the district speaking with people. My journey east continues. With Chalfont New Britain and Doylestown Township done. I have Doylestown Boro, Buckingham Solebury and New Hope left. Buckingham and Solebury will be hard. Those houses are to far apart.

exhausted, This is a lot of work for a one man band. On the upside people are stopping in the grocery store, gas station then asking "how things are going." I'm shocked that they remember me or care to ask. It shows they are angered with current politicians and flat out annoyed by both parties.

I am guessing they are impressed that someone cares enough to put forth real personal effort! Good Luck.

I have made through the period of signature challenges. No objection have been filed. My name can not be removed from the Nov. 8th ballot. I got to speak a few times (2) in public. Thank god I can speak well in front of people. I'm horrible at writing. It's almost as two different people are in me.
How is this for a campaign sign or slogan. This wont be on every sign just a few. Maybe my box truck.

Get some help. Worth doing.

It's too long; 3-5 words is all that voters can process and then attach to your name on the ballot. They have to also roll off the tongue smoothly.

What is the major thrust/theme of your "platform"? What are you going to do for the voters?

Maybe one of us can help you out.
