Wow. Folks complain that “ todays , internet, books movies and video games are overly graphic”. Sounds as we have been a pervert society from the beginning of time.

So incest was sanctioned by God. ? A pure blood line from the beginning. But that changed somewhere in time and now humans ban incest.....

Incest is legal in many parts of the world. Belgium allows it. China and Russia.

I would not say that incest was sanctioned by God. Your comment about a "pure bloodline" is one of the keys to understanding that one of the ways to populate the earth when the species starts with only one male and one female is brother-sister marriage. As time went on humans developed genetic imperfections. It was not until 1512 B.C.E., at Sinai in the wilderness, that God created a law against various incestuous relations. See Leviticus 18:6-18.

Example: Leviticus 18:9 You must not have sexual relations with your sister, either the daughter of your father or the daughter of your mother, whether she is born in the same household or born outside of it.

Prior to the law, incest did not exist.

It is like speed limit laws. Prior to 1652 speed limits did not exist in the United States. In 1652, the colony of New Amsterdam (now New York) issued a decree stating that “No wagons, carts or sleighs shall be run, rode or driven at a gallop” at the risk of incurring a fine starting at “two pounds Flemish,” or about $150 in today’s currency. In 1899, the New York City cabdriver Jacob German was arrested for driving his electric taxi at 12 mph.

Incest is legal in 22 countries, including the United States. (Rhode Island, Ohio, and New Jersey are the only three states in the United States where incest is legal.)

Wilmingtons guide to the Bible has some very interesting commentaries on what may be either gray areas or topics not fully explained in the Bible. IIRC, according to WGB in the beginning the genes were much stronger, robust, (not sure what word to use here) and less likely to cause birth defects that would likely occur today from incest.

Since this thread started on a humorist note I will add some to it.....

After God created Adam he created Eve for Adam.

So God asked Adam how he liked Eve.

Adam said she it great.

God asked Adam what he liked best.

Adam said he liked sex the best. In fact we just had sex and Eve is down at the stream cleaning up.

God said Oh No. It will take me forever to get that smell out of the Water.....

It is a great movie and along the lines of "Stand by Me". It also covers a great time in our history (IMHO) that our age group can really appreciate. A summer of change from innocence to young adulthood.

Well put, sir. And I appreciate your feedback of concurrence. I had a feeling (a hope) that anybody here who understood my use of the word “truth” would not need my use of it explained .

And I agree with you wholeheartedly about “Stand by Me” being of like truth, for a time and relationships gone now, but still held in the heart by those who lived their childhood amidst that circa .

I honestly don’t know if boys, nowadays, go outside and play like that, developing lifelong cherished memories and friendships.

However, I have found myself quietly rejoicing and enjoying when I , by happenstance, happen to be walking near the playground of our parochial elementary school, at lunchtime or during recess periods (20-30 min.) and find myself getting washed-over by the joy of their cheers as they play, socialize, and play small ballgames.

Better be careful at the schoolyard Murph, lest some do-gooder busy body report you to the police.

911:What is the nature of your call.

There's an old white haired man lurking and looking through the fence of the school yard. Damned pedophiles are everywhere! Better get here and check him out!

Hey! It could happen, considerin' how people are these days!

The school precincts are part of the overall church campus.
For example, the parking lot abuts the playground. I am very active with myriad responsibilities related to the Mass, in the church, well known or, at least, visible every Sunday, at the Altar . Also, I have often been asked by our pastor to volunteer-tutor students in Language Arts, and have had considerable success with 4th, 5th, and 7th graders.

When I enter the playground, during lunchtime recess, to begin my presence on campus, and to begin a tutoring session with an individual pupil, I am often rushed-up to and greeted by being gathered around the waist by a small group of tutored boys and hugged Hello.

When that first happened, initiated by my first pupil, a small 4th grade boy, there was only time to receive the blessing of such unimagined and unanticipated joy, frankly, with cheerfulness and acceptance, as I made my way from the parking lot to the playground. With the entire elementary grades at recess, at that moment, lined-up for re-entering the building , I depended on my public reputation and knew there was no way I was going to turn away from, nor push away, that boy who was spontaneously offering such kind acceptance and gratitude to me in front of all his peers and teachers. He was the ultimate of important elements in that moment, not I, in my viewpoint. From that day forward, he always greeted me that way, in the playground or at our end-of-the-hallway kiosk where we worked for 90min. sessions, two times per week.

At the end of that first day’s tutoring session, I escorted him, in company of his entire class and floor of classrooms, to the parking lot to his awaiting mother’s vehicle; he hugged me Goodbye in front of her. He did that every time after that , too, when I took occasions to escort him out of the building at dismissal. There was no way whatsoever that I was ever going to turn him away, since I felt, and was certain, that the tutoring was all about him, not me. I didn’t need protected; my reputation in our community and church took care of that.
