The second paragraph gives me the impression it was written by an intellectually-challenged individual , since it doesn’t fit the flow of the first paragraph and seems outside of normal thinking. Stupid, actually. IMHO .

Strangely enough, having fun and being a bit silly is permitted in London...........and perhaps they are the better for it.

"Against this notion American criticism makes but feeble headway. We are, in fact, a nation of evangelists; every third American devotes himself to improving and lifting up his fellow-citizens, usually by force; the messianic delusion is our national disease... ...Genuine criticism is as impossible to such inordinately narrow and cocksure men as music is to a man who is tone-deaf."
--HL Mencken

Rufus' signature quote had a sour note in it.

Rufus T. Firefly wrote:"Every normal man must be tempted as times to spit upon his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats."

Was:...tempted as times...
Is: ...tempted at times...

Edit 1 to indicate tuning was successful.
