California recall election
California recall election
If Newsom is kicked out there will be repercussions across the united states. If we get a Republican governor and Fienstien retires or dies (she is 85) then he will appoint a Republican and Shumer is out.
The night of the election and we go to bed and Newsom has lost you can be sure that during the dead of night the Democrats will "find" enough ballots to save Newsom.

Re: California recall election
The state congress in California is totally controlled by democrats, even if you were to somehow get a republican governor nothing id going to change. It's a lost cause.....
Re: California recall election
Who would want to live in California when you can live in Texas where the government is deputizing every citizen to spy on and sue any female neighbor who might want to control their reproductive organs? Shades of Soviet Russia and Nazi Germany. Amazing.
It's hilarious to hear people accusing Biden of being a Communist and then supporting the government in encouraging vigilante behavior all too reminiscent of totalitarian regimes. And then bellow "freedom" when asked to wear a mask. A bunch of blithering fascists and idiots.

Does read like a very bad dystopian SF movie from Netflix..........but it's merely reality in TX.
As for CA, it's already been answered:
It's a lost cause.....
Most of the trouble in the world is caused by people wanting to be important.

What are they doing in Texas?

For the liberals it's all about legally killing babies.
And for the woman that want total control over their bodies that they have....That's how they got pregnant in the first place
And the law they passed doesn't make abortion illegal...
Re: California recall election
I don’t watch much news anymore. I did google it. It’s sad we can’t teach people to be more responsible from the get go. I wish that every baby was a wanted baby. Somehow i can look past abortion . Hopefully i can do better as a parent. I can not agree with snitching on my neighbor for having an abortion.

What if the father wants the child?

My wife and I adopted two babies in California !969 % !971, Both of them are very happy that their teenage mothers didn't abort them,
Our liberal activist would probably prefer they had been aborted.

The father can sue the mother for aborting his baby but it is still legal for the mother to abort the baby. The law didn't change that..
Re: California recall election
I don't consider a 15 week fetus a baby. It's a potential baby. No one considers abortion a virtue, it's a solution to mistakes people make, accidental events, or crimes people commit. The Texas law makes no exception for example for protecting the life of the mother, for rape or inability of the mother to provide for a potential child. No contraceptive practice is 100% effective, for another thing.
It's more likely that a forced pregnancy will result in a seriously compromised childhood characterized by abuse, poverty and neglect than adoption by loving parents, if previous experience is any indication. Not a fair or rational argument to say those who favor reproductive rights are in favor of aborting all pregnancies that produce children who are adopted. Part of a women's right to control her body is to carry an unwanted pregnancy to term. Funny how you conservatives are in favor of freedom, except when it's a woman's right to control her body or a poor person's right to be considered innocent until proven guilty. Wrong gender and color I guess.
In any case, the individual freedom of a woman to control her body trumps (hah!) the right of a pre-viable fetus to become a baby in my view. Are you against contraception too? Contraception prevents fetuses from being born just as much as abortion does. Who are we to tell a woman what to do with her uterine contents?

I"m not for or against abortion. The woman can still do as they please as far as I'm concerned. And I"M not the person that brought abortion into this conversation
I left California in 1980 for the open spaces of the Midwest and fewer people. Not because of politics.
No wall to wall shopping malls where I live like there was where I lived in California
One of the great things about this country is that you can live where you want to,,,,at least for now

That's pretty much a prerequisite for anything in this country...
