Still snowing. A nice fresh inch fell overnight. Friday's rain should be fun.

Followed by Monday's arctic blast........you'll be able to skate to work!

Yeah, we'll see 10 degrees in OKC and KCMO will hit zero or below nest week.....should be interesting further north.

We're supposed to see 10 degrees overnight here in VA. Bet the morning news is all about broken water mains.......

Only thing different between the weather girls and Phil is that they are more attractive (usually), while Phil might make good stew.

I don’t think Phil knows how to cook. I had groundhog stew before. Not bad at all.Meat is a little slimy. If you smell it cooking. You’ll never eat it.

My uncle used to tell us it was good on the grill but it had to be fresh......like within the hour.

Neighbors told investigators that Spaide and the Goys had been engaged in a long-running feud that reached a boiling point on the snowiest day of the year.

"The Goys were shoveling the snow from their parking spots, shoveling the snow across the road, and throwing the snow onto Spaide’s property," Salavantis and Binker said in their statement.

Witnesses told investigators that Spaide asked the couple to stop, sparking a heated exchange of words. James Goy apparently threw a tool at Spaide that he had been using to clear snow from his car, according to the statement. When James Goy approached Spaide with a raised fist, Spaide reportedly retreated into his house and fetched a gun, the officials said.

I'm concerned. I am committed to being of-service at my church's 12noon Mass. If there is a ton of heavy snow on the ground, or even just a light snow which is enough to cause slippery driving , I don't want to take a chance driving what was my wife's E-Benz 4-Matic to there and back. So, I would walk, assisted by a walking-stick/cane , to help steady my footing, the approx 1 1/2mi
there.

I'm not looking forward to the journey either way.

Walk a 1.5 miles in a blizzard? Snow covered icy sidewalks? I'd take the Benz.

You know what, Robert, I think you're right. Why take the chance of getting my body seriously injured walking. Let the Benz protect me, which is what it's there for. I think I'm a pretty good driver, having never had a single accident which was my doing.

And then, there is that wide four-footed stance the car has, kind of, in my imagination, like a crouching animal, low and ready to be sure-footed and strong.( )

I had duties at Mass, which included ministering The Eucharist. And reading the Epistles aloud from the ambo. It was a month's commitment. A promise is a promise. I could have telephoned for an alternate but didn't feel it would be fair to ask somebody to do what I was worried about doing.

So, I drove and took my time . It all went nicely except for the piles of snow across intersections but despite the car being very low-slung, I sailed over the crunchy waves.

Ten parishioners were in attendance. That's out of a usual pre-pandemic 300-400, and a currently allowed 80+ .
