Robinhood, TD Ameritrade restrict trading of GameStop, AMC stock

A class action lawsuit against Robinhood has already been filed in SDNY.

Still ridiculously way up. 40% off the high is still several 100% over where it started at....

140% of *all* GME shares were short-sold. The hedge funds that short-sold the stock are required to buy back the shares -- if the stock hits $1000 a share, the hedge funds still have to buy it at that price in order to cover their shorts. ($1000/share is the price the reddit buyers were saying they were going to hold out for.)

That's the one that's really funny. Only good thing is that AMC is selling off their own stock holdings to raise capital.

One of the posts over there. Crazy because if you read along most of these people seem to be begging, borrowing or stealing(not literally stealing) the money to invest. I do a little day trading and am still learning the ropes but people are showing up there willing to risk everything.

And there's the problem; they'll be the first to scream "save me" and "it's not fair" just like when the housing market collapsed.

In the meantime the big guys and hedge funds are making even more money than before. When they pull the plug, all these little guys are going to be left holding the bag full of nothing

This shows that we need to change a thing or two. Maybe end the short sale. You buy the stock that day and pay for it. There are a few conspiracy theories out there. I don't understand it one bit ( the short sale) It's an option i have never used with my IRA.

Those that do not need to run away from options trading.

It's an option i have never used with my IRA.

Options are not something that you really want to play with nor involve your IRA with either unless you really, really, really know what you are doing. You have better odds of success at the nearest casino.

Could be the beginning to a beautiful thing. The hedge fund managers are already crying on the news about how they got there asses handed to them by a bunch of greasy basement dwelling millennials. What’s going to stop them from doing the same thing with AMC or other heavily shorted stocks?

Except the other fund and hedge managers are going to make even more money going along for the ride. This is being billed as a David/Goliath thing, but that's a misrepresentation and hype of the facts.

Ummm, they are already doing this to AMC, Koss, BBY, and a few other loser companies. Anybody that owns these probably should have or will bail out of them with huge gains..........and taxes to pay,
