How were you involved in music?

OK. You asked so the whole bunch.
8th grade-learned to play tuba was put into the HS band. 9th-played in HS band and orchestra and a minor symphony orchestra. Learned string bass to
play in the HS orchestra and the junior symphony. I played tuba with various concert bands and string bass with various jazz and dance groups of many sizes for which I got paid. I also sang in HS chorus. Band chorus and orchestra in college along with jazz and dance playing. After college played in community bands. Also directed. That may cover the playing.
After making a decision to teach rather than play professionaly I taught in eight school systems in three states with some college and university involvement for 43 years full time and 7 part time. I taught all types of music from 1st grade through high school. And I really liked what I did and have no regrets.

Probably lots more than you wanted to know.

Rufus,
Thank you.
It took a year or two but as I got the idea that music was about joy, even sad music, it became easier and fun.

I stopped playing decades ago and despite a well meaning attempt by my better 1/2 to get me back into it, I thanked her and declined to opportunity. I'm perfectly happy listening to others with far greater talents than I even had.

I checked all of the boxes of bulbs I have...they must not be packing LEDs using that stuff, at least in the boxes I bought. I checked a few boxes of 60W incandescents I still have, two-to-a-box, but with a single-ply piece of cardboard separating them.

I found a roll of the stuff on eBay for $4.50, but shipping is $4.00. Six inches wide and twenty-two feet long, it's likely a lifetime supply. If I go that route, I'll use what I need and send the balance to my mate who builds putz houses.

What type of traffic will be using it?

Thank you Roger! I’m not sure yet. I keep recklessly buying and building kits with no idea of where I will place them. :D I have a short On30 line I will integrate into my O layout and I’m thinking about using it there.

Very nice, I probably would not have the skill any more to build something like your bridge (hands too shaky). Two comments:
1. It looks a little large for On2½, unless handling standard gauge cars a la the East Broad Top.
2. Would it have been better to install the track before adding the roof?

Thank you! It is listed as O/On30 although I haven’t studied it against either gauge. It probably should have had a road run through it versus a RR track but I’m the worlds most horrible road planner on my layout so that probably won’t happen.
Pretty sure the On30 line will run through it. As for the track. Unless I’m missing something I should be able to set the bridge and run the track through it.

What about a dirt road or foot path over a creek?
You gotta get it somewhere so it willbe easily seen. To good to hide.

Thanks Roger. It’ll come time at some point but over water would be my preference. I’m not quite there yet....some day.
