Hobo Jungle
Re: Hobo Jungle
Still looking for the date of the photo. Article on the "history" of the tree(s).
https://silentology.wordpress.com/2017/12/24/harold-lloyds-magnificent-year-round-christmas-tree/
Will post when I can find the actual date for the B&W image.
View camera shots in B&W indicate that they were taken "circa 1973/74". Furniture doesn't look like 1960's furniture to me but I don't pay much attention to furniture other than it should be reasonably comfortable. That is definitely not mid century modern. If I had to guess I would say mid 30's not so modern?

Re: Hobo Jungle
Great link, Chuck. A lot can be gleaned from that.
I'll retract my comment that the b/w photo was from the 1920s. The photo is from the Library of Congress' Historic American Buildings Survey, part of the Historic American Engineering Record. Much of Lloyd's estate was demolished for redevelopment after being auctioned in 1975. The main house still stands, but the outbuildings, the tennis courts, the golf course, and other amenities were taken down and the property sold off as building lots. The LOC record says simply that the study was prepared post-1933.
Here's some more info about Lloyd and the estate:

Merry Christmas to you, too, Tramp, and everyone here on MTJ. I know this has been a rough year, but we made it (at least most of us). Hope you all have a great Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all!

Merry Christmas.
Tramp I can't upload a photo so I had to link an image from another site.

You cannot upload them to this site; you have to use a hosting service

Gonna go find my DVD for "Scrooged" and watch it with the missus. We already saw "The Man Whi Invented Christmas" on CBC last night.

Re: Hobo Jungle
Brilliant stuff, guys. I’m looking for Bogart to step out from behind that Christmas tree.

Jon.
Just having one T1 is something that some dream about but having TWO different stages is way beyond my dreams.
