A more recent model other than the previous ones posted. I had been waiting for a decent priced Gem B6sb or A5s to come along but this one became available. A Weaver 2 Rail A5s. Serial #6 of 12 of this particular model produced. It was painted a fictitious road name. I repainted/weathered it to what you see here.PRR Locomotives

Same comments I made about the others.

Another more modern release. Sunset Third Rail PRR J1 from 1996. 2 rail version. Repainted and renumbered just to be different. I dont have my normal roster shot for this one so here is a "moody" closeup.Re: PRR Locomotives
That must be a model. Too clean to be a real PRR loco.
Yes, I know it is.

Re: PRR Locomotives
Roger, I had also run that photo through photoshop awhile back to get an even more "moody" weather beaten look. -

Even the track looks real.
Weaver and Williams made some nice PRR models.

Re: PRR Locomotives
Yeah, I still would like to add a Weaver H10s to the roster someday. I have PRR classes A, B, C, D, E, G, H, I, J, K and L all represented in O scale. I didnt post some cause I already did in the past. I have one more loco to post that I own and one I wish I bought but sold for someone else. I have questions on that one. I'll get to that later today. Oh, by the way, I'm more involved with HO scale. But the O scale itch from my dad still has a hold of me.

Re: PRR Locomotives
Are your old photos still around? I am re-posting mine, because the forum no longer supports the older photos. The really old Photobucket photos got an overlay.
Re- post all of them here. I am quite sure our audience is enjoying your photos - I certainly am!

PRR I1s, Sunset. Bought new, unpainted when first released, circa 1990ish. Gave it the standard paint job. New PSC bell and plates from Schuylkill Div.-

I had one of those - Mort sold it to me for cheap, because it had been dropped. I got it straight and painted, but it never looked as good as yours.
Here is a D16 I have been working on for literally a half decade. Original intent was a magazine article, but now it is something like "I hope I finish this thing some day."

Re: PRR Locomotives
And a couple decades ago I made one for Frank Thomson of Philadelphia. Not sure if I can post it here - it is pdf, whatever that is, and may not "take."
Nope - I have to figure out how to convert it to jpeg or gif - whatever they are! Lemme try . . .
Here it is - already jpeg. Shutterfly sometimes balks anyway. This is a copy of a Kodak print, scanned into the computer, enhanced, and stored. Gold stripes on the drivers are not great, but are better in real life than shown here:

Re: PRR Locomotives
Looks Great. Sure does have that high stepping, high speed look of those early passenger power locomotives. That's a straight D16, right? I need that in HO for my Yellow Kid.
Re: PRR Locomotives
Can any one id this K4s from these photos? Not going to give my idea as I dont want to taint your thoughts. It was in my possession for awhile some dozen years ago. Since I already had my dad's Tronzo custom build, I passed on buying this one. Now I wish I did keep it. If I remember correctly it was set up for outside third rail but I think when I was tinkering around with it and oiling it up I seen the previous owner had soldered a little brass tab between the driver rims and driver castings on the firemen side to help with the third rail running. I desoldered, maybe temporarily, those tabs and the model ran as a 2 rail model. I'm pretty sure I soldered the tabs back on cause I didnt want to change the history of the model. So, from these pics.....any idea who's it is? And yeah, a nice paint job would have made this one quite stunning. I really like the downward slope of the firebox on this one too.

Re: PRR Locomotives
I remember guessing before - I think Alexander on the main frame, although drivers and rods look Scale Craft. Boiler is too nice for either of them, and tender is quite well done - probably scratch.
The Alexander frame was cast in halves, with full rigging and spring detail. The one I have was apparently too wide, so the knave that had it before me just stuck it in a belt sander. I would replace that half if I ever find more castings.

Re: PRR Locomotives
Here is mine with an Alexander frame. I did fix the gauge of my display track after this photo was taken - having much better luck these days with getting wheels on the track. USH tender.
