I was thinking maybe she lived under a bridge or something and it would be nicer to sleep on and then I see the SUV ( ? ) in the background and
think she may be like a couple my son knows that live in a rather nice condo but spend most of their non working time taking turns standing
on a corner with their cute dog and a sign asking for money.

Are there a lot of people who would be that self-focused and thoughtless, or is it a select group of low-life's that would commit such an ignorance?
