But just think of the photos/videos that could be taken first and Googled to the world !

Hawevah , as we all know, all ya have t' do is offer the big bugger a handful of M&Ms, and he/she/it would be so tickled and mesmerized that fun could ensue. Eh? Huh?

I think the redecorated fire hydrants are clever and fun.
But in some areas they are illegal either by state or local law.
I think it was in Ohio where a town got threatened with big
fines when they painted the ones in town like posted. :?: :?: :?:
I don't remember the reason given.

I don't remember the reason given.

Paint interferes with the operation. The pentagonal valve stems/covers get painted "shut". Secondary is the issue of finding/seeing them. They originally chose red or bright yellow to make them easily visible. In places where they don't paint the curbs red to signal a hydrant some a-hole driver will park in front of one and block access.

Yet they paint them red nonetheless. All yo have to do is come back the day after painting and crack it open for a few seconds - could coincide with the supposedly performed periodic testing.
