Lou Caponi's LCCA Lake Shore Limited set runs under a malfunctioning signal:



Probably the nicest modern tinplate set in the collection, manufactured by MTH (Lionel Corp.) for LCCA. Lou did a great job on coming up with this.

I was watching an old episode of Midsomer Murders with the wife the other night, The House in the Woods episode, and I noticed that Barnaby trods on an old Dinky toy at one point while investigating a double-murder. Looking closely, I realized it's one I had as a kid (still have it):



Looks like he may have trodden on this one as well, lol. I've got a set of replacement decals for it; gotta go find 'em.

Does that Dinky predate the Jaguar XKE?

The Bristol 450 was rolled out for 1953, campaigned by their factory team at Le Mans for a number of years. Jaguar didn’t introduce the E-type until 1961.

The Dinky Bristol 450 was part of their range (no. 163) from 1956-1960.

Crazy looking thing, wasn't it? Maybe its styling was the inspiration for the Batmobile. I seem to recall seeing photos of a roadster version as well.
