What it says. Boy. Paint condition, porthole lenses gone, not enough photos, but for $29 and no bids, looks like screens on the roof, battery cover, 2343 number boards, SHOULD be a powered unit.
Buy it quick!

"New" "Mint" "no box". ?????????? Huh?
Once I built a railroad, I made it run,
Made it race against time.
Once I built a railroad, now it's done --
Brother, can you spare a dime?

I know, right? Gets all effusive over that, and it's none of the above.
No place does he mention whether it's an original double powered unit, or if some yokel has swapped out parts making the better shape dummy the power unit and this one no longer is.
Very strange.
But they've been in his possession for over 30 years! That's gotta count for something!
Boxes are not reproductions! But there are no boxes!

Here's a part that should make anyone with 2 functioning neurons run away quickly.
"Not responsible for listing errors. Always go by the picture in the detailed description section, if not sure or an error in version numbers etc."

Uh, no.
We seem to be seeing (or perhaps people are just noticing) more of these "throw it up against the listing wall and see what sticks" types of items for sale.
Might we conclude that this is a trend that will accelerate as the hobby "matures" (translation: drives over a cliff)?

Yes; this is nothing new.

Re: New
If it is a powered 2343, not a bad price at all. If I needed one, I'd pay that, but not the shipping!
That's make it close enough to $75 to exceed actual cash value. To me anyway.
Still up at 29, looked a lot closer, there is an e-unit lockout lever hanging through the fuel tank.
Another piece of data.

Yes, that's out of line - should be able to get to you Priority mail for ~$15.

Re: New
"Always go by the picture in the detailed description"
I don't see enough pictures to go by or a detailed description for the seller to "not be responsible"....
As for the shipping price, that's about what I paid to ship my Lionel scale N&W J class (about 20 pounds altogether) in its box to PA for repair work. That was with enough insurance coverage to buy a new one if anything happened. Shipping is getting more expensive, but not that expensive

Re: New
The picture shows 2343 number boards, wire mesh on roof, battery cover, and e-unit lever hanging down.
Hard to tell if the owner gutted the power trucks out and put dummies in, leaving the e-unit.
Horrible photos.
Scam level shipping.
