Cost of 3D printing is in the run time; full body shell takes time to do - no idea what this really costs - probably through Shapeways but there's another trolley 3D printer out there doing bodies shells and some other stuff- don't recall his name.

~5-6 years ago the first full body trolley shells were on tables at meets - $300-400.

By the time you finished the model completely at that point in time you were looking at an $800 investment to get a car that was otherwise unavailable unless you scratchbuilt it yourself. 3D printing caters to the guy that can't/won't scratchbuild traditionally.

Brass body shell -- old Kidder import -- might cost roughly the same were it available.

Wish that these guys would just print the sides and ends separately, cut the costs, use a wood or resin roof; could just print masters and resin cast replicates..........

Imperial Hobby Productions? But they only do HO and N now. I have little use for them; I bought a Kansas City PCC shell by them, no floor was included in the kit, just a blurb noting that one had to buy a floor from their Philadelphia 2700 series PCC kit. When I asked at one of the Rutgers trolley meets, he said that "I do not do O anymore." and that he had no more of the floors. I told him that you should have included them with the shell.

Probably is. My source of information is the eBay seller and where he gets the 3D printed shells from to sell.
