Hmmm. I don't remember that. It started with something like " When I moved the Hobo Jungle".

Wow, now that's an interesting question and premise.

Indeed - looks like we've lost some time.......

Who owns this forum now? Could it be Tramp?

Oddly enough, I'd think he'd be very up front and tell all that were it so.
The average train of thought isn’t big enough to carry a full sized opinion on any subject.

Getting in my time machine and going back 20 years.

There was a thread on OGRR titled Hobo Jungle, As I recall Tramp was involved with it.

After a long time it was terminated on OGRR and I think that is when Tramp brought it over to MTJ.

I was under the impression that the owner of the MTJ is a member of Bill's family ?

The first post in the "Hobo Jungle" thread was by Tramp, and was what he described as a "poem" copied from the OGR forum when the "Hobo Jungle" thread there was axed by Rich Melvin (presumably because of length/size)

Correct, Bill's son-in-law, Lee.

Not quite correct on your part.

I still think the first post here in the Jungle started with "When I started". The poem is also missing.
I think the topic was all that was brought from OGR not the posts that were made there.

I'll second that for sure. Hev was a good man, never had a mean word for anyone! We lost two really good guys at once, Hev and The Dirt. Sad thing.

RIP Hev and hope You and yours are doing well, Dirt man!

I agree. I met Hev on my only York trip in 2010. I think we talked for nearly three hours while Mrs.Hev checked out the show.
His posts were always great to read, as were posts by the other two in the above photo. I'm sure that everyone that knew Hev has missed him.

I won't argue the exact wording, but we pretty much agree: Tramp mentions the circumstances, and then posted the "poem".

The posts that followed were the other hobos.

It's been a very long time since I've seen posts from some of those folks.

As for the removal of the poem, guessing that would have been done by Tramp.

I'm so grateful I took the time and effort, several years ago, to travel to Pennsylvania to meet and share an event in-person with The Dirt and Hev. The event added much depth and Life to a connection that had only been available to me via MTJ. As I have said, and Rufus has agreed, there is no substitute for actually meeting and being with somebody in-the-flesh, enriching an already very enjoyable meet-up on this forum. Much can come across on a forum, but when tone-of-voice and facial expression are absent, much is missing, IMHO .

Frankly, they were fun, both imbued with a joie de vivre that was unmistakable, infectious, and charming to be welcomed near.

Agreed. Thanks, Wayne.
I don't know anything about Mr. Lango or why he started MTJ but for me, nearly 15 years ago, that made a huge difference
to me because MTJ is where I got the encouragement from its members to finish my layout. As I have stated many times MTJ is my favorite forum.
