If you don't like the aforementioned shows(Tegridy Farms is South Park), you might try Mike Tyson Mysteries. Do they still make those dreadful SuperStreets vehicles? Mike Tyson Mystery Machine! Probably would conflict with their Scooby Doo deal...

I found myself watching a couple episodes of Jackie Gleason's "The Honeymooners," yesterday. And I was trying to recall, even as a boy, back when TV was new, and much later as an adult, did we ever actually find him to be funny. Loud, yes, and a super-ego, yes, but funny? I can't recall.

I didn't know I got ESPN 8,

Seems to be an international event with 20+ teams from all over driving several types of trams to test abilities, and yes, there was tram bowling,

Did your grandparents ever express why they felt as they did about that show?

I think a lot of people related to Gleason in his Ralph Kramden character, an everyman with flawed big ideas that looked past everything he was already blessed with. I suspect a lot of Americans saw a bit of themselves in Ralph, and it gave them a chance to laugh at themselves. I remember watching the Jackie Gleason Show with The Old Man. Gleason was innovative in his skits, and he had a great knack for physical humor as well (he was a great dancer, lol). Reggie Van Gleason III, The Poor Soul, Joe the Bartender, all topped off by those leggy June Taylor dancers. Some great stuff there...

I read that Gleason wrote at least some of the music for his show, which Sammy Spear and his orchestra performed. He did a fine job as Minnesota Fats, in The Hustler.

Not Grandpa. I don't remember my grandma's exact words, but believe it had to do with Ralph threatening Alice.

I read that Gleason wrote at least some of the music for his show, which Sammy Spear and his orchestra performed. He did a fine job as Minnesota Fats, in The Hustler.

Gleason had a secondary career as an orchestra leader. He conducted and produced numerous albums during the 1950s and early 1960s. He was right up there with Mantovani and a few others, producing that rich "101 Strings" sound that was so popular during the era. I read a review once that said it was Gleason that put the boom in the postwar baby-boom
