@ 100 years ago many immigrants came to this country in a legal manner and contributed greatly to it.
At that time there was work of all types to do in this country. Doesn't seem to be like that today with so
many jobs that they could do gone from the U.S. Yes, I realize that are still many jobs here and that it
is sometimes difficult to find people to do them. One such job in this area is the planting of onions in
the spring and the harvesting in the fall. Some have come to stay. Some are legal and some are not.
I am not a sociologist but worked as a teacher for nearly 50 years. The kids from these families worked
hard in school and were seldom discipline problems. Most of these people are here in a legal manner.

I have no solutions to the immigration problems. Or any other for that matter.
This has been an interesting conversation. The previous ones to mine, that is.

Recently watched several good documentaries, that included immigration to this country from the 16th century up to early 20th and it could often be overwhelming, with some group(s) not liking the new immigrants. But, the big difference was we were still trying to grow and populate out country. We had plenty of space and needed more people to transform it. It was always the land of opportunity and almost everyone came to better their lot and become be assimilated into our country.....they were proud to become citizens. That mindset seemed to have changed changed 50+ years. When people were allowed to sneak in without much or any resistance it changed completely IMHO. And the fact most liberals defend this (for votes) turns my stomach. To sell out your country for votes (IMHO) is treasonous. I absolutely abhor the group that supports the current (sneak on in ) immigration policy.

Bernie Sanders surrogate Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., told her Instagram followers that there was "no sugarcoating it" following another strong election night for Joe Biden Tuesday, with the former vice president racking up wins in Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi and Idaho.

Tuesday's results put Biden firmly in the driver's seat in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination and cloud Sanders' potential path to a majority of pledged delegates, or even an opportunity to force a contested convention. The Democratic party has largely chosen Biden and his incremental progressivism over Sanders and his democratic socialist movement, which Ocasio-Cortez proudly considers herself a member of.

With results from Tuesday’s primaries in six states still being finalized, Biden so far has a total of 823 delegates, leading Sanders with 663.
A candidate must secure 1,991 delegates to win the nomination on the first ballot at the Democratic National Convention.

AOC is a very dangerous person IMHO. I don't want to be alive when people like her gain power and there is a good chance they will. I'm afraid this younger generation (Sanders supporters) just don't understand the Pandora Box they might open supporting candidates like sanders and AOC.

I also think giving the vote to 18 year olds is really biting us on the backside......I was not ready for the vote at that age and neither are most of them. I realize, being old enough to die for our country, without being able to vote was not fair, but giving the vote to HS mentality "rah-rah-rah" children is not the answer either. Again, I feel fortunate someone stopped BS, but I'm not a Biden supporter either.

I don't think AOC is dangerous. It was the media that turned her into a celebrity. She has been campaigning with Bernie supporting his socialist agenda and with the democrats along with the media turning against Bernie and going with Biden, Her day in the sum may soon be over. Pelosia would like to get rid of her.

She's dangerous, just hasn't had the opportunity to really flex her political muscle yet. I agree with Murph. Look in her eyes. Another minion with too much power.

I'm not seeing very much of anything attractive in the eyes of any politician - it's all about them, not us.

Yet, we keep re-electing them thinking ours is not the problem.....or that the new guy will actually be different than the old guy....

Are self-absorption and self-promotion undetectable in the eyes?

File under desire for power - it's all about that and very little else.

What do you suggest be done to change this situation?

Too complicated. Expectations that voters actually rationally think for themselves and be knowledgeable is almost too much to hope for these days. We have herds of sheeple voting that follow wherever the herd to told to go and what to believe.
