Thanks for that E7...I'd have to make sure my "Accidental Death and Dismemberment" policy is paid up before I'd take a crack at 90% of those. One of them is somewhat reminiscent of the old cut-off saw we used at the lumber yard where I worked while in college...an 18" unguarded circular blade we'd shove 2X lumber through. How I didn't kill myself with that thing still amazes me. Damn thing would kick like a mule if you even slightly pinched the blade.

That open buzz saw running off the belt drive reminds me of the many years we ran a big saw in an upright mandrel off a very belt from the tractor PTO. Scary set up, and even that would stall out the tractor when we were cutting big logs of black locust.

All this equipment will be useless in the near future. California has already banned wood burning fireplaces.

When they figure out how to tax firewood. That ban will be lifted.

The OSHA guy was going to comment on a few of those, but he went into cardiac arrest!

Wonder if that chipper/shredder has a body bag attachment? Can't see on of those without flashing back to the closing scenes of Fargo.

Useful for capturing cutlets for the cannibal components hereabouts.

And at one level that's why I'm fine staying with my axe and hammer & wedges to split wood. If it takes more than that these days, it's either too big or too heavy to deal with and better left for others. OTOH, using the chain saw can be an adventure and I have the scar to prove it.

I do appreciate the chain brake on a chain saw and wish a lot of other tools had a similar feature, aka once you release the trigger whatever you are doing stops. I hadn't used my Porter Cable circular saw in a while and was taken aback at how long the blade takes to spin down. Yes, the guard snaps back for protection but it's still spinning at a good clip for quite a while. I was using a Porter Cable saber saw and it was worse in terms of how long it took for the exposed blade to stop moving after you released the trigger. I'm sure this free wheeling action is a testament to the bearings used in the tools and how "efficient" they are (both are excellent tools for cutting). I actually prefer my el cheapo B&D saber saw in terms of safety. It stops almost instantly when you release the trigger.

Chain brake on my saw is not automatic - totally manual.
