Nice stuff
Today, in NYC , a jogger, wearing a T-shirt and shorts, came across a shoeless homeless man sitting at the curb. After a brief conversation, the jogger removed his sneakers and gave them to the homeless man, on the spot; then, he continued down the sidewalk in his bare feet .

Re: Nice stuff
This morning when I stepped out to bring our empty recycle bin in from the curb, I found it already tucked next to our garage door. Across the street I noticed another resident of our immediate neighborhood walking away. I thanked her, she acknowledged my thanks, and she continued on her way, returning newly emptied trashcans and recycle bins from the curb to their respective garage door homes!

Re: Nice stuff
Hi Dan, Quite some time ago, I had concluded that my immediate neighbor, to my right, was doing that with my garbage cans, after 7am pick-up, tucking them in at the bottom of the driveway, right next to the garage door.
When I have found myself up earlier than he in the morning, I have done the same for him, no matter that he is a strapping young man who fixes motorcycles inside his garage and can easily get to the cans later in the mornings. I figure, when he is tired and has not gotten up to get his cans inside, I can at least get them away from the curb, which sometimes means they are lying on their sides part-way into the parking lane. Actually, I don't try to figure any of that out; I just do what I can to acknowledge and return his kindness.I want to honor the gracious gesture by him. I believe he wanted to be supportive in any way possible during this difficult time for me, these past seven months.

And speaking of legends...
1975:
I had occasion, today, by happenstance
, to hear "Diamonds and Rust" sung by Joan Baez. A video was part of the experience.
If there ever were a vehicle that could take a person back-in-time, it was that voice and that song, especially given the shots of her and Bob Dylan throughout the film.
What were you doing in 1975? Tell us about a favorite experience, in 1975. Or thereabouts.
Nostalgia. It can be nice stuff.

Excellent point, Hondo! "Nice stuff," indeed! If I may ask, did that affect you personally?

General Francisco Franco died in 75, and is still dead.

If you were living in Spain, probably, but it also spawned a running gag on SNL that lived on for a long time and made me giggle.

70's SNL made those years tolerable.

Such big moves take a lot of courage, commitment, and a sense of adventure, in my estimation.
