The Great Southern was the road name used by the late Lorell Joiner. As best I recall, all the stuff from the layout was auctioned off (Stout Auctions maybe?).

Anyhow, this one appears to have made it across the pond.

If the seller knows the origin, they don't mention it.

Think this is an Overland, listing says Samhongsa and they did do the B&O version too
A modified 4200 series Erie Class R3 prototype, boiler piping is largely an exact match, the boiler too aside from missing one dome, which may have been removed if I'm right about the prototype, valve gear isn't right but the tender has the right length and frame aside from having the top of the bunker trimmed down, just an opinion.

Despite the dropped-on-its-nose damage it closed for "approx $824.08 US"

The ghost of listings past! Don't quite know why, but I looked through this thread again and a couple things are not quite koshur. Can't be an Overland because as far as I know. ALL of their stuff was done by Ajin Precision, so Samhongsa excludes Overland from this particular loco. The 2-10-2 makes it a "Sante Fe" by Whyte classification, which likely would have appealed to Mr. Joiner.

I looked in the "Brass Guide" and one of the listed Importers was Sunset and they did use Samhongsa, so maybe them, but I didn't find a pic that looked the part! The mystery remains.

While I'm not a steam expert, I'll opine that it looks to me like it started out as an USRA 2-10-2.

The brass guide at brasstrains says that Sunset did a USRA 2-10-2 and I was able to find pictures of one on their website: brasstrains.com - O SCALE BRASS 2-RAIL SUNSET MODELS USRA 2-10-2 LIGHT
