Used to getting shipments from amazon with a small item wrapped in a single piece of wrapping paper inside a box way too big, but this takes the cake.
Shipped the drill in the factory shelf box, looks like they had to put some amazon tape over the normal clear sealing tape and it was still beat up. Drill looks okay inside, but might not fail for months or years. I guess this is how Jeff Bezos makes so much money.
This does it for me............no more Amazon..............the convenience isn't worth the BS.

Amazon Shipping all time low
Re: Amazon Shipping all time low
Did it come from a private seller. Amazon allows anybody to sell on their platform. . I get your frustration. Probably dewalt’s hard case did a well enough job for protection against the shipper.

Good question. You only have to visit the PO to see just how poorly something can be prepared and packed for shipment.
.the convenience isn't worth the BS.
What BS? You got the drill and according to you it works. Apparently it got delivered to you as well. Out stuff ends up on the nieghbor's porch - apparently reading numbers is below the required reading comprehension level to get a driver's license and job
There was a thread over on OGR a while back about a train car that was put into the mail w/o anything other than the box is was originally sold in....and it made the trip just fine.

This one is sold directly from Amazon. My 1st thought too, was the hardcase should protect it, but it doesn't come with a hard case....just the tool.
I've had crummy packing before, but never a label stuck on the outside of the factory packaging. Believe the box has been sitting on the Amazon shelf "smashed" for a long time...box looks old.
Tool hasn't been tested...I'll do that when I get home tonight. But, even if it works (now) not sure in the future. I could have bought it from any of the big box home improvement stores and will next time.

That's different - if it fails; return asap.

They're no prizes either - watch out for a box that's been re-sealed and ask for another one if you run into that.

Re: Amazon Shipping all time low
The biggest issue for me is the obvious lack of care or even a "give a sh*t" attitude by whoever pulled it and slapped the label on it. The box does look to be resealed with amazon tape. The golden rule of sales and customer service is "would you want to receive this item (fill in the blank) in this condition if you were paying for it. If the answer us "no" you don't ship it.
Saw a video of a lady amazon driver just tossing out packages as she drove down a street....not even the right street. When you have this level of total ignorance it's really scary.

Good luck with that - but do complain back to Amazon anyway - sometimes they do respond. Really!

Probably one of the many contract employees - they use Enterprise rental around here 7 days a week delivering. Not sure if it's ignorance as much as just do not care or give a damn....but then that's where our country has been for a while and its embracing that attitude whole heartedly these days more than ever before.

My mother bought some electronic gizmo from amazon. When it arrived. It was missing a charger. She called Amazon. Told the about it. They sent her a whole new item. Reversed her credit card charge and told her she could keep the incomplete one. It was a $400.00 item

Drill works fine, which is credit to DeWalt not Amazon.
Totally agree on attitude and work ethic in this country Rufus. I glad I'm old as I can't imagine where it will end.
Roger, I've seen that happen a couple of times on items my wife ordered....told her to just destroy it she got the new one. I'm sure it is the vendor taking the hit, not Amazon in most cases.

That is what is most disturbing. We need to put a call out to Travis Bickle!

Actually, it probably is Amazon taking the hit and just writing it off as cost of business.

My sister got me a coffee cup with a picture of a Border Collie on it from amazon. I came in a styrofoam box made for cups. I have a fence in front and my aggressive border collie was barking at the mailman, I saw him throw it hard at my dog. The cup survived barely.
