That is sad news.

This is sad news. Barry was a friend. We often discussed the User Group meetings. It will definitely be a loss for the hobby but more importantly his family and friends.

Sad news and my condolences to his family and friends. He made an astonishing impact on the hobby. Without his work, it's possible that DCS would not have survived its early teething pains. He also made an enormous effort to help anyone who was having difficulties. The hobby is the poorer for his passing.

Which reminds me that Thor Sheil passed away back in November. I read his All-Guage page endlessly when I first started back into this twenty-five or so years ago. He was forever a reminder that one should not take anything, especially toy trains, too seriously. I'm very glad to see that his page is still available on-line:

A gentle, or not so gentle, reminder that time is short.

Sorry to hear about your dad, John. It’s been nearly twenty years since I endured that...think of him every day.

John, sorry for the loss of your Dad. It's been 12 years for me & I miss him everyday.

That's so sad about Barry.
