My daughter Lucia is horse crazy, so I wanted to add a little horse fun to the layout for her. I picked up a 9280 Santa Fe horse car off ebay for cheap. After a few weeks of running it, the bright red body was bugging me. Made it appear too toy like ( bc real railcars have horses hanging out of them lol!). Ordered some decals & gave it a paint job. Blends in much better now.

A pair of SD40E units shove 38Q under the classic PRR signals at Summerhill, PA. I'm really going to miss these when they come down!

Very nice 1654, Christopher...pretty much a postwar carryover of the prewar 1684. The 1684 was the first diecast prewar loco I bought (a million years ago). Manufactured during the months running up to the war. I think the 204 was the O version. I gave it to my daughter, along with a set of 1600-series freights. Hopefully she will someday play with it with her kids.

Fabulous layout Ben. Is that the TW Trainworx Empire State Building?

All:

Given that Lionel has announced the Bessemer & Lake Erie 2-10-4 #643 Texas type locomotive in its new 2019 catalog, I thought I would go see the prototype. Yesterday, I took a little trip to McKees Rocks, PA (just west of Pittsburgh) and snapped some photos from each side of the yard. The locomotive is stored outside.

Too bad it doesn't fit in your area.

I should never say "never", but my first choice would be another I1s Decapod to double-head with my current one. Given everything else ahead of it on my layout list and the money involved, I'd say there are not great odds on that happening. But we can dream.
