Power. Nullify the election. Enjoy her perks.

Certainly the present Democrat party and a large contingent of Republicans.
In fairness to Ms. Pelosi, the recent election inserted a number of crazies into the HoR that she somehow has to accommodate, given the narrowness of her election to Speaker.
Of course, actions that should benefit the country seem to be beyond her comprehension.

You can plug in the exact same language to describe the previous 2 (4?.....6?....) years in the House; nothing has really changed - just the labels.

The Senate is run by cowards that have forgotten who they work for and are too spineless to appreciate that they can act independently.

Ah, a challenge.

Let's see...
Both Nancy married Paul Pelosi when they were 23 years old. It is their first and only marriage.

Moral principle found in Malachi 2:16 New Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (NRSVCE)
16 For I hate divorce, says the Lord, the God of Israel,

Nancy and Paul Pelosi have five children.
Moral principle found in Genesis 1:28 New Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (NRSVCE)

28 God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.”
Nancy has done well, five children and she even has dominion over the animals in Congress.

That assessment seems pretty cynical. My impression of her has been that she is about more than that. However, it is interesting to read your viewpoint. I have no strong opinion of her as yet .

Never underestimate Nancy Pelosi. She is very shrewd and a lot of members in the house owe her favors. Remember all the ones that were not going to vote for her to be speaker of the house. Some of them even ran for office based on that. Didn't happen.

However she will have her hands full with a lot of these new liberal media darlings that have their own ideas about how to lead the party. They will all fall in line as Nancy tells them what to do.

Ryan had the same problems with his fringe lunatics and 1/2 the time you could not begin to tell which inmate was really running that asylum.

And where is Ryan now........

She's a snake in the grass, Murph. Powerful and power hungry, and runs a very tight ship. Many of those in her own party who are, or were, in line for some cushy sub-committee job and said they would not vote for her as Speaker have been shut down and sent to the corner. Her own daughter said this: "She'll cut off your head and you won't even know you're bleeding". She is a savvy and vicious politician.

Last week, state investigators determined that the company's equipment was not to blame for a 2017 fire that killed 22 people in Northern California wine country.

The bankruptcy filing immediately puts the lawsuits on hold and consolidates them in bankruptcy court, where legal experts say victims will probably receive less money.

"They're going to have to take some sort of haircut on their claims," said Jared Ellias, a bankruptcy attorney who teaches at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. "We don't know yet what that will be."

In a bankruptcy proceeding, the victims will have little chance of getting punitive damages, and their claims will almost certainly be heard by a judge, not a jury. They will also have to stand in line behind PG&E's secured creditors, such as banks, when the judge decides who gets paid and how much.

But legal experts also noted that state officials will be involved in the bankruptcy, and that could soften the blow to wildfire victims.

Gov. Gavin Newsom said in a statement that his administration will work to ensure that "Californians have access to safe, reliable and affordable service, that victims and employees are treated fairly, and that California continues to make forward progress on our climate change goals."

California has set a goal of getting 100 percent of its electricity from carbon-free sources such as wind, solar and hydropower by 2045. To achieve that, utilities must switch to buying power from renewable sources.

PG&E made agreements in 2017 to buy electricity from solar farms. But because of its bankruptcy, some experts have questioned its ability to pay what it agreed to, or to make the investments in grid upgrades and batteries necessary to bring more renewable energy online.

Northern California braced for mega power cut
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-49982236

A power company has started cutting electricity to around 800,000 homes, businesses and other locations in Northern California, in an attempt to prevent wildfires.

Large swathes of the San Francisco Bay Area - though not the city itself - are expected to be affected.

The region’s utility company, Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E), has warned the shut down could last several days.

Since California is planning to go all electric it appears they are going to have a lot of work to do to ensure the power grid is safe.....
